What exactly was shadows play with Sorry?
She didnt really do anything to interfere with or hurt the empire/empress.. so what was the plan, and why did they spesifically need her on genabackis?

Apt is right, but from GotM it appears that Sorry was meant to host The Rope until he could get close enough to strike at Laseen. The Wax Witch interfered early on and then Rake forced Shadowthrone to make Cotillion withdrawal.

Yeah, but when Sorry was reqruited she asked specifically to be put on genabackis. Why not try to get stationed closer to malaz city where Laseen is.. But guess ill find out more about it later.

There are no campaigns on or near Malaz City, so it would be intensely weird for a new recruit to request to be stationed there (hopefully that's not a spoiler, it's just a matter of geography -- I know the maps are revealed piecemeal). Frankly it's weird for a new recruit to request any destination, but that's not what she did. She requested to join Dujek Onearm's Host, which is more important than any specific location (though the fact that he was facing active combat in Laseen's favored front probably lubricated the request).
