The Esoteric Order of Dagon has secretly ruled the town of Innsmouth for decades. Though you usually like to stay in the shadows, pulling strings as you see fit, you are also aware that a leader from the Brotherhood of the Beast has moved into town and is openly trying to recruit its members to their order. You refuse to allow such blatant poaching in your town, so you must come out of the shadows to fight off this cult. The whispers of the Deep Ones in the depths of your mind only serve to strengthen your resolve.

You cannot be recruited by the Brotherhood of the Beast.

Each night, you may attempt to recruit a player. If you are successful, they will join your cult. If both you and the leader of the Brotherhood of the Beast attempt to recruit the same player, you will both be unsuccessful.

The Brotherhood of the Beast worships you, Nyarlathotep, in your guise as the Beast. In order not to scare away potential new recruits in the town of Innsmouth, however, you have taken your nearly human form. You are here to sever this town's ties from the Deep Ones on behalf of your father, Azathoth. Your ultimate goal is to clear the way for Walter Gilman to reach your father's throne at the centre of Chaos, and the Deep Ones and their connection to this town are one of the barriers that must be removed before he can do so. Should Walter Gilman reach the Throne of Azathoth and onto it inscribe his name in blood, beautiful Chaos will be unleashed upon this world.

You cannot be recruited by the Esoteric Order of Dagon.

Each night, you may attempt to recruit a player. If you are successful, they will join your cult. If both you and the leader of the Esoteric Order of Dagon attempt to recruit the same player, you will both be unsuccesful.

You feel like you have finally pinned down the cult's leader, here in the unassuming town of Innsmouth in Masschusetts. Now that you're here, however, you realize that there is a struggle for power with another cult - the Order of the Dagon. The townspeople don't trust outsiders, but you're determined to out the Brotherhood and rid the world of their influence.

You are a Finder. Once per night cycle, you may perform a faction find. If your find is successful, you will be told the player's faction.

A debutante from one of the most important families in the fisheries business up north, you are here to spend your last summer before university at your parents' estate on the edge of Innsmouth. You are kind of oblivious to what's going on in the town, but you've certainly noticed the string of bad boys coming through, and if there's anything that you love more than a bad boy, you don't know what it is!


If you are a member of town:

Each night, you may open a lover conversation with someone. The lover conversation is closed at the end of the next Day cycle.

If you are a member of the Esoteric Order of Dagon:

A lover conversation is opened between yourself and the leader of the Esoteric Order of Dagon.

If you are a member of the Brotherhood of the Beast:

A lover conversation is opened between yourself and the leader of the Brotherhood of the Beast.

The Vigilante

You know that the Esoteric Order of Dagon has been active in Innsmouth for years as you have been protecting the town's citizens from the predations of the cult. In fact, after fighting a few years of constant bloody sacrifices and murders in your streets, an unspoken truce has arisen between you and the Order. They have seriously curtailed the more violent aspects of their beliefs and you leave them alone. But this new cult has stirred the pot, and things are starting to get ugly. Good thing Quick Draw McGraw is on the case!


If you are a member of town:

Once per game, you may kill another player as a night action.

If you are recruited by the Esoteric Order of Dagon:

For years you have been trying to find the leader of the Order, and now he is trying to recruit you. Years of frustration boil over, and you ninja the leader of the Esoteric Order of Dagon, killing both him and yourself.

If you are recruited by the Brotherhood of the Beast:

Once per game, you may kill another player as a night action. If they are a member of your cult, the kill will fail. This counts as a separate vig from the townie vig, so you can still use it if you have already used your townie vig.

You have been following the Brotherhood of the Beast for years, in hopes that you may get a chance to destroy its leader who you know to be Nyalarthotep. The death of such a powerful being would surely empower you, give you even more control over the dead than you currently hold. You barely even notice the maddening whispers that forever live in the back of your mind anymore.


If you are a member of town:

Once per game, you may speak to a dead player. If you do this, you will be given a copy of all PMs from the dead player during the last Day cycle that he or she was alive.

If you are recruited by the Esoteric Order of Dagon:

Once per game, you may kill another player as a night action and take control of their alt. If they are a member of your cult, the action will fail - please note that you do not get to try a second time if the action fails.

If you are recruited by the Brotherhood of the Beast:

For years you have been trying to find Nyalarthotep, and now he is trying to recruit you! You stab him with your ceremonial dagger, expecting to take his power for your own. Little do you know, however, that such power is not meant for mortal minds. The power flowing through you scours out your mind, your personality, your entire being and leaves you a dead husk. (This is a ninja kill, if this gets triggered both you and the leader of the Brotherhood of the Beast die).

You have lived in the town of Innsmouth all your life, and despite the rash of crazy murders and sacrifices to Dark Gods that took place a few years back, you quite enjoy this little town. Things had been quiet for some time, but now there are rumours of cultist activities. You and your trusty bottle of jack are ready to deal with what you dread will be a bloody showdown between the two cults that are rumoured to be at war in your town.

As long as you are alive, CFs will be posted on thread after any death.

Your congregation was never very large, but during times of rising cultist activity in your town, many turn to you for protection from the madness and chaos inherent in such cults.

You may attempt to prevent a player from being recruited. Each night you may choose a target player. If they are also targeted by one of the recruiters, the recruit will fail.

The leader of the Esoteric Order of Dagon has shown you true madness and chaos and you found it to be a thing of beauty. If your leader is targeted with a kill, you will sacrifice yourself to protect him.

Unfortunately, you haven't actually seen Walter in a couple of months, so all you can do is hope to help the townsfolk rid Innsmouth of the Brotherhood before they can find Walter.

Such an event would surely bring only madness and chaos to our planet, so when you heard rumours that the Brotherhood had finally tracked you down here in Innsmouth, you went to ground in hopes of hiding until the war between the cults wound down.

If there's one thing that the rash of murders and dark rituals from a few years back did, it was make gossip in Innsmouth VERY interesting, and Veronica Day was always a hub of information during those dark times. Now that the Brotherhood of the Beast has moved into town, things are starting to get shaken up again. Veronica loves the drama, and doesn't hesitate to let anyone know anything she may know!
