'Trump has complained about Vindman in private, mocking the way he spoke, wore his uniform and conducted himself during the impeachment inquiry," the Washington Post reports. "But Trump is eager to make a symbol of the Army officer soon after the Senate acquitted him of the impeachment charges approved by House Democrats'

'[Trump speech yesterday:] They're vicious and mean. Vicious. Adam Schiff is a vicious, horrible person. Nancy Pelosi is a horrible person. [...] I doubt she prays at all. These are vicious people.

[...] But they do two things. They stick together. Historically, I'm not talking now. They stick together like glue. That's how they impeached, because they had whatever the number is, 220 people, so they don't lose anybody, they'll be able to impeach anybody. You could be George Washington. You could have just won the war and they say, "Let's get him out of office." And they stuck together and they're vicious as hell.'

Trump may be alluding to his favorite poem:

'Since Boris Johnson became prime minister last year, he and President Donald Trump haven't stopped lavishing praise on each other. But they've reportedly had their first tiff over Johnson's decision to allow Chinese telecoms giant Huawei a role in Britain's new 5G networks. The Financial Times reported Thursday that Trump expressed "apoplectic" fury with Johnson during a phone call last week, and the London Evening Standard added Friday that Trump slammed the phone down on him. The FT also reported that British officials were "taken aback" by Trump's anger."'

'Speaking from the White House lawn on Friday, Trump called Pelosi's act of destroying an official document "very illegal" and "very disrespectful to the Chamber and to the country." In fact, Pelosi's copy of the speech was not a government record so it was not illegal to destroy it, legal experts told PolitiFact. Trump, who Politico once reported has a habit of shredding official records'

https://www.thedaily...speech?ref=home

'Meet the guys who tape Trump's papers back together
The president's unofficial "filing system" involves tearing up documents into pieces, even when they're supposed to be preserved

[...] Armed with rolls of clear Scotch tape, Lartey and his colleagues would sift through large piles of shredded paper and put them back together, he said, “like a jigsaw puzzle.” Sometimes the papers would just be split down the middle, but other times they would be torn into pieces so small they looked like confetti.

It was a painstaking process that was the result of a clash between legal requirements to preserve White House records and President Donald Trump’s odd and enduring habit of ripping up papers when he’s done with them — what some people described as his unofficial “filing system.”'

https://www.politico...g-system-635164

'A top Alabama cop has been forced to apologize for a Facebook post

[...] the assistant chief of the Geraldine police department[...]

"Pelosi just ripped up his speach. Road Side bomb on her way home and any other Dumbocrats."

[...] "I have definitely offended some people with my remarks. It just rips my heart out that our great country is so divided."

[...] "I honestly believe that God has placed Donald Trump in the position to bring about prophecy. God Bless Trump. God Bless America."'

Geraldine Mayor Chuck Ables said on Thursday that he [...] will meet with the town's attorney Friday to decide the best course of action.'

This reminds me of that scene in Harry Potter where he who must not be named is coming out of the back of the Dark Arts teacher's head.

Not sure if serious or trolling, but I think older generations - including mine - have always used that as the "A-OK" sign.

I think the OK sign being warped into something else was a 4chan thing that people thought was real, and then made real.

They became their own satire. And for that, the divers must all die.

Yes, but flashing the 'okay' sign just then wouldn't make much sense. Especially in the odd way she does it. It's possible she just thinks it's a sign of support for Trump... but given how much more popular white supremacy used to be, she's probably just an old racist.

https://www.nytimes....hite-power.html

The ambiguity is part of their strategy: it simultaneously grants them plausible deniability and allows them to tell people, 'the liberals are so pc now you can't even use the "okay" sign without being called a racist!'

(Scene: very warm, polite little old lady with a rural or Southern accent---invites you in, offers you sweet tea. 'I think Trump is like a superman... no mortal man could take what he took... I believe he was sent by Jesus... [holds up the okay sign... keeps holding it while staring at you meaningfully... holds it up to your face... then her forehead.... 'I mean he's gonna put them ***$#3**($@! in their place! White power for ever!')

Trump tweeted this video at least twice in the last week:

'This will never get old!

'Jerry Fallwell Jr: Mitt Romney Should Keep His Religious Convictions To Himself

[...] Jerry Fallwell Jr., a religious demagogue who injects his religious views in nearly all of his media appearances [...]:

"I think he should keep his religion in his personal life...Some people have always worn halos to hide their horns...Jesus reserved his harshest criticism for the pharisees...hypocrites, wolves in sheep's clothing."'

'a Catholic priest in Rhode Island claims voting pro-choice is much worse than raping children because "pedophilia doesn't kill anyone."

[...] Trying to justify his decision to deny pro-choice Catholic lawmakers communion as well as the ability to act as witnesses to marriage, godparents, or lectors at weddings, funerals or any other church functions [...]

State Rep. Carol Hagan McEntee (D) said Bucci told her to leave a relative's funeral and forbade her to deliver a eulogy. McEntee's older sister has previously testified that she was sexually abused as a child by a then-priest at Sacred Heart [...]

"If he wants to weigh the heinous crime that his predecessor committed on my sister, compared to what he believes I did wrong by voting for what I believe is right for the people of the state of Rhode Island, I don't think they even compare," McEntee said'

'Christian pastor: The left hates Trump because he's "too much of a man for them"'

During his radio program, The Awakening on Friday, right-wing pastor E.W. Jackson opined that the reason why the Left hates Trump is because of his masculinity. The president, he said, "is just too much of a man for them."

[...] They just don't like manhood, and I think that's part of the problem too — the radical feminists, the homosexuals, the transgenders, whatever bizarre idea they have of who we're supposed to be, they're not putting up with men who stand tall, who stand up straight and say, 'Look, this is who I am, this is what I believe, you can like it, or you can lump it, but there it is."'

Trump tweeted:

'Because of how badly they did with the Impeachment Hoax, AOC will primary Cryin' Chuck Schumer, and win, and Jerry Nadler has a good chance of losing to his far left primary opponent! It is all getting quite interesting. Pelosi will lose the House, AGAIN! My poll numbers great.'

https://twitter.com/...847711703584768

'TOUGH GUYS FOR TRUMP!

'

https://twitter.com/...040292060180481

The latter tweet possibly in response to controversy about:

'CPAC chair says Romney was uninvited because "physical safety" would be at risk

[...] "This year, I'd actually be afraid for his physical safety, people are so mad at him," American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp said in an interview Saturday on "Full Court Press" with Greta Van Susteren.

"The biggest problem we have with Mitt Romney is [...] the fact that he's lied so continuously to conservatives," Schlapp added.'

'Popular Christian activist Dave Daubenmire claims Meghan Markle "poisoned" the royal bloodline by being half-black.

[...] "Don't miss what's going on. This infiltrator comes in, proud of her infiltration, proud of her multiculturalism. And what is that demon doing? Destroying and upsetting everything, every tradition in that royal family."

Previously Daubenmire argued that interracial marriage and multiculturalism is "spiritual AIDS" infecting a once "great Christian American culture" [he is from Ohio]'

'Dave Daubenmire Hopes to Sue the NFL for Putting His Eternal Salvation at Risk With the Super Bowl Halftime Show

"Could I go into a courtroom and say, 'Viewing what you put on that screen put me in danger of hellfire'? Could the court say, 'That doesn't apply here because the right to [produce] porn overrides your right to [not] watch it'? Yeah, well, you didn't tell me I was gonna watch it! You just brought it into my living room. You didn't tell me there were gonna be crotch shots!"

[Previous recent Superbowls also featured 'crotch shots'... but of white women.]

[...] "That's discriminatory against the value I have in my house. You can't just do that," he argued. "I wanna sue them for about $867 trillion."

Daubenmire appears to be quite serious, as he posted a follow-up video on Facebook saying that he is looking for a lawyer who will file a class action lawsuit against Pepsi, the NFL, and his local cable company on his behalf.'

'[Daubenmire's] son [...] was placed on a 5-year probation sentence after he was found in possession of child pornography'

'supported [...] Roy Moore who was accusd of sexual misconduct with minors'

'he worked as a high school football coach [...] he was reported to be making his players pray[...] as part of their practice routines. The ACLU sued him for trying to enforce his belief system on his players.'

'Trump Tweets, Then Rapidly Deletes, Post Calling Mike Bloomberg "TOTAL RACIST"

[...] The audio clip had Bloomberg discussing the controversial "stop-and-frisk" policing policy he pursued during his time in City Hall, and he can be heard saying that police target minority neighborhoods "because that's where all the crime is." Trump excitedly shared the clip with the caption: "WOW, BLOOMBERG IS A TOTAL RACIST!" But Trump's post was later taken down, without explanation.'

'The Department of Justice Gave Over $500,000 to "Hookers for Jesus." I Wish I Was Joking

[...] Everyone is welcomed at Hookers for Jesus except homosexuals, who the group reportedly finds immoral. [...] Not only is the program poorly named and completely off its goddamn rocker, Newsweek notes that the group's policies could "violate federal anti-discrimination laws." [...] Outside groups gave both Hookers for Jesus and the Lincoln Tubman Foundation—which was founded in 2018 by Brooke Burris, has damn near no experience in dealing with these matters and is headquartered in Burris' parents' mansion—low marks, but when has the DOJ or the Trump administration ever let process get in the way of handing out money to people that don't deserve it?'
