It all goes here. sketches, Wip's, final products etc.

If you post a final in here I will link it to the OP and credit you. If you have already done work based on the Crimson Guard you'd like to submit that's most welcome as well!

Below please find the list of characters we'd like to see:

Spoiler

The list is long and sadly not well illustrated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Anyone at all is welcome to do something.
3. Project ends in December 2017
4. All finals will be incorporated into the Malaz Wiki and MAG on Deviant art.

Please ask if anything is unclear or if there are changes you'd like us to consider regarding the rules/format. This is all done in the spirit of providing new faces to the body of art existing, fleshing out the Malazan Wiki and by extension making inroads into the look and feel of the Malazan Book of the Fallen, Something I'd like to think we all want and will enjoy...
Participation is its own reward. no prizes.

If you choose to get involved please let us know what you want to try, anyone that can will help.

Lets have fun with this!

Nice start to the project, thanks Christheren!

I like the armour design and the sword has a classic look to it.

In my minds Eye I've always seen Bars as an Old man but this works too, theres a nice intensity to the facial expression. Amazing that you're doing this on an IPad. You should get a Wacom Tablet and try Photoshop, if you havent already. I find it offers way more control and versatility.

What a heroic rendition of Iron Bars. Much more handsome than what I envisioned . . . particularly after reading Stonewielder.

And a great start with two Bars. Well done Cristheren and Plugo. :D

And I think everyone understands now why Skinner ran away from this guy.

My initial attempt at Shimmer.

Was a bit surprised to read she's Napan but the image works with that in mind.

I'm doing paintsplorations according to Sinix, Speedpaints according to Marc brunet. basicly I'm starting and finishing ideas in one sitting. this is meant to boost my speed. I'll jump from character to character and Refine later in the year.

Looks good Cris. I just imagined him younger. But on the other hand we are missing descriptions of him as a grown-up man before his holidays at the Dolmens of Tiem. So it could also fit. :p

Shimmers blue skin is actually only mentioned in RotCG, if I remember correctly. Her short stature and black hair more often. As ICE later decided that she was from Itko Kan, I'm not sure if he just forgot her initial description. I guess I should reread DL and search for a description of her. :p

This started as a portrait of K'azz. But I'm not sure now. Maybe made him too... ragged?
Call it a wip or maybe it fits someone else?

Pre- or post-buried K'azz? A post-buried K'azz has all reasons to be ragged :(

That image of Kazz is probably one of your best portraits to date, CN - the raggedness is spot on from where I am looking. What gets me are the eyes - they look so world-weary... in them I can see his knowledge of what the vow is doing to them... I think you have captured the soul of Kazz in those eyes.

Agreed; that's a very sympathetic K'azz. No matter how heroically he starts, and I imagine he was strikingly so when his mission began, it seems he'll look more an more like this as the story of his trials go on.

Finally done with this.

Possibly my favorite piece of painting in a long while.

I've been working on a few other things so possible art dump these next few weeks.

It was too deviant even for DeviantArt.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
