Hey all,
Kolanse is one of the series' more intriguing locations. We didn't learn much about it in Tcg, except the bare minimum of what was done there by the FA. Does ICE touch on this neck of Wu in his Malazan Empire novels? I'm curious as to how they interacted with the nearby K'Chain hives/mecha cities, if they had any interaction at all.

Nope. ICE tends to deal with situations Steve does not: Korel; Jacurucku; Assail; Stratem; southern Genebackis....
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
