Listening to the podcast, these are my thoughts so far:
Shit is going to go down in the third book - Walk in Shadow
Fall of Light is a bridge between first and last
Language as a main driving force in comparison to MBotF which was plot driven
Steve writes in the afternoon
Malazan Empire forums mentioned - hey are we connected to facebook?
The interviewer has only read uptil MoI... sigh... asking about badasses...Torvald Nom is number 1? Thanks Illy!
Hah! Interviewer surprised with the Karsa nugget

Interesting details about collaboration with ICE
Malazan Warhammer??? Sheesh no please.
Jack Mcdevitt - huh I read a few of those a few years back, need to get back to that. Also Seveneves.
Heh FoD is traditional and straightforward.... this is hilarious

Robert E Howard - grimdark - SE's perspective is always different - yeah Malazan is really not nihilistic
Vietnam War - yeah that makes sense
LoL his publishers thought he was writing a trilogy?
Interesting to know about the TV show, did anything come of this?

That was fun and interesting. Even a bit inspiring.
Particularly his creation of a new MBotF character for the sake of the podcast. I don't know if it inspired anyone else, hopefully this will help the lonely Jaghut earn an entry in the wiki.
