I broke down and started playing this, partly as a way to get my fat ass moving more. It's my first Pokemon game. I could see myself getting into the collecting and upgrading aspect of it. I wish there was more of a tutorial on what I am supposed to be doing and how in these early levels. Maybe I missed it.

Heyo, Yeah it does kill the battery fast. I found this guide quite helpful https://imgur.com/gallery/jl0yq

My girlfriend is a first time pokemon game player and she's really getting into it. I've played all the early pokemon games and I love it, as with Raymond it got me out yesterday and will again today for an epic 5kish walk. The community is pretty cool too, met some guys down at a local pokestop and had a good chat about everything.

I like the way it's advertising itself by appearing on the news every day. Today was the 'inappropriate' catching of pokemon at the holocaust memorial.

A colleague of mine has it already - apparently we have a pokemon gym at work by the kids ward, and he said the people at the memorial cemetery were probably after a Ghastly!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

A real charmer was fired because he went on a Facebook rant about Pokemon Go not being available while on a business trip to Singapore. Because nothing says work productivity more then playing Pokemon Go.

He has deleted his social media accounts, saying it was a "very big error in judgement to negatively label an entire country over Pokemon

Yeah I am still working a lot of it out. I went to my first gym the other day as soon as I hit level 5 and got absolutely destroyed!!

Haha, it's fun though. :p

So basically this is a game for all of us who really really wanted to see things that weren't really there in our day to day lives, but weren't blessed with brain damage?

The politically correct term is "augmented reality", I believe.

Not released in Canada yet, so I have to wait. I will be trying it out when it comes out here for sure though.

This is smth that I may have found cool 15-10 years ago.

Nowadays, I go outside to get away from electronics and all of society's pressures.

It's a very original application of a generally cool, positive ideas. But I just feel I'm long since not the target audience.

You get more balls every day. I think you can play ok without spending money, but you will have to travel a bunch and figure out the strategy part (not leaving your strongest Pokémon at a gym).

I'm having more fun turning my cell phone into a DS and playing Black than I think I would with this. The one caveat is that the ROM/emulator keeps seizing up and wiping out hours of progress.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

You can install and use it if you get a copy of the .apk. I think apkmirror probably has it.

I don't quite get the actual capturing mechanism. I throw the ball and then mash the screen and sometimes it catches it, sometimes not. How do I catch shit with a bit more finesse?

Fuck atleast your finding things. I've been out walking 3 times today all around my streets and haven't found shit

How rural are you? This game is somewhat based off Niantic's Ingress game and the database of places there and if nobody played Ingress where you are, there may not be a whole lot beyond the public buildings (library, churches, synagogues, city hall etc).

Why? If you need to see monsters and surreal beings you could just walk down Queen street around 11pm. Noon on weekends.

You need to flick the ball as close to the pokemon as possible. When you flick one, you should see a green circle around/on the pokemon. You need to get the ball in/close to that circle. I think there are ways to make the circle larger, but I don't know them.
