Each month you can download a free ebook (available for 7 days), starting with Cixin Liu's The Three-Body Problem!
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
―Gene Wolfe, The Citadel of the Autarch

On the contrary, the US and Canada need to team up against everyone else more often.

I hear it's really hard to get into, but later books are much better-written? I might have to check it out.

That sounds like the Dresden Files.
“The others followed, and found themselves in a small, stuffy basement, which would have been damp, smelly, close, and dark, were it not, in fact, well-lit, which prevented it from being dark.”

Yo, this promotion goes along with an essay of mine (and my excellent friend Laura Hughes who is taking the lighter road) going up on TOR.com in a few days. I hope I do all of you proud! It's mostly about problems people have with the series and how issues have (d)evolved since the early 2000s. It is kind of intimidating being published by the publisher who literally made ALL the books I got into fantasy through (basically just the Wheel of Time tbh), just too bad it's not, you know, MY ACTUAL BOOK!

This can't hurt, though, right?

If you sign with Tor that would be a huge deal. If you sign with Del Rey, though, you are banned from the board forever.

Honestly, even if I'm a little bummed this month's book is one already own in ebook (and just bought a couple months ago!) and have already read three times, it's super cool that it's bringing Malazan to more readers. (Also looking forward to the discussions about it, Tatt's essay included.)
