Wait a second Does this mean what I think it means?

I will also say that I am very leery of the “prequel” word. Don’t like it. I see this as a new series in the Malaz world – the Path to Ascension – that (could) prove as long as it need be to tell its tale.

It maybe longer than a trilogy?

And then there's this:

I’ll say that the working title for book 2 is Deadhouse Landing. And that there’s a big hint as to the setting of this one.

Great interview, I hope you don't mind if I share the link?

By all means share the link.

Glad you liked the interview. I had never interviewed an author before, so it was fun.

Great interview! Deadhouse landing, huh...
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Maybe he is trying to make every book in this series start with D(something) L(another string of words). Would make it hard to abbreviate titles.

That would be epic. I read DL, now I'm going on to read DL before reading DL. :)

Him not limiting it into a trilogy sounds good to me. If he can make it work in a trilogy it's fine, but my initial feeling after DL was that it would need more than 3 books.

Yup, great interview! If you want to get more hits, I'd suggest crossposting it to reddit.com/r/fantasy and reddit.com/r/malazan.

DaLa/DeLa?

Ooh, I know! Just like some folks do "DHG", we could have "DHL". Heh.

Hah, Damned Liosan sounds like a novella in the kharkanas trilogy. I would definitely read it.
Other suggestions:

Discrete Lubrication
Dark Livers
Destroying Li Heng

Nice interview, he seems like a really nice guy, able to laugh at all those ship covers and so on.
