My apologies, I forgot to look into this since your' and Macros' last posts. Unfortunately there is some bad news regarding the Chat module:
The Future of IPS Chat:
So it looks like IPS have decided to discontinue the Chat module from their services. I will consider replacing it with something else, but honestly aside from the odd drunk person wanting to chat, I haven't exactly seen much demand for the app. When it was just a case of paying the renewal fee that was fine, but finding and implementing an alternative could be a bridge too far if it's not going to be popular.
Though if it is popular I may end up just setting up a Discord server for the site. But we'll have to check how many people are actually interested in using chat on the site/third party app frequently.

What kind of work would the poor New Zealander have to do?
I just made a hypothetical Discord server after noticing the chat is down. All Silencer would have to do would be to make the 'chat' button redirect people to that (or any other) channel. (and it's important to let people know it's going to be external, but it's not much work if people want it)

Oh I'd totally do it. But it seems like literally no one actually wants it considering it took several months for anyone to complain the chat was down, and it's been another couple since anyone brought it up. XD
But yes, setting up a Discord server isn't a lot of work or getting the chat button to redirect.
