Are racial warrens in the sole control of a single species?

If so, then do they have to originate from that warren?

If not so, then how does a species acquire sole control of a warren?

Based on what we know up to TB, racial warrens are not absolutely in the sole control of their species.


Paran travels through part of Omtose Phellack in TB, but you see it cross parts of Death and elsewhere.

In HoC we learned that Ossi was taking steps to guard Kurald Thyrllan from others, so obviously there is some risk.

Kurald Emurlahn broke and there are chunks of it all over the place being used by all kinds of people for things not related to the Edur or Shadow.

In MT we saw Edur using Kurald Galain via the enslaved Andii souls.


Not all racial warrens are physical spaces... we've never seen the inside of the Thelomen warren mentioned in GotM. We've never seen the inside of Tellan even tho we know Tellan is wearing down Omtose because of the Tlan Imass jihads.

We saw the Beast Warren back in MoI and HoC, but the Imass adopted it as well as a sort of afterlife. And apparently the whole thing is in a human woman's head.

In MT we saw a dead(ish) tribe of Imass who had invested a chunk of Starvald Demelain, which is aspected to either Chaos, Eleint, or both.

So as far as we know, the only way to have utterly sole control over a warren is to kill or otherwise dissaude everyone else who wants to use or access it, although its possible some warrens are so uniquely linked to a race that no one else could.
