Agreed on Somers' CATES... the series is a bit inconsistent, but overall a lot of fun in a dark gritty sombre depressing sort of way.


I think that Patrick Lee's THE BREACH sf trilo (The Breach, Ghost Country, Deep Sky) didn't get the nearly the attention it deserved. It tends to be marketed as more of a thriller series, but it's totally scifi, moves insanely fast, and has a satisfying end.
