Initially, I found both movies to be okay to good, but with flaws. The more scrutiny I gave Civil War, the more questions I had,

'how did any country sign a treaty allowing the US Secretary of State to order the German police to make an arrest in Romania?' There's no way that could happen without every country in the world going ballistic.

In general the more scrutiny I gave BVS, the more I understood what was going on 'Oh, that's what the hell the flash is doing in the dream'.

I read an article today about things learned about CIvil War's commentary and there were some interesting tidbits. About how for the directors this was basically a 'divorce' for the Avengers and that's how they approached it, that RDJ puts an enormous amount of thought into all of his scenes, and seems to know not just Iron Man incredibly well as a character, but the other characters too, and that they wanted it to be hard, if not impossible, to choose a side. They wanted the viewers to see both sides and understand both Tony/Cap, and feel that they're both wrong, and they're both right.

I can't seem to find the article - otherwise I would've linked to it (I shouldn't have been surfing the web on my work laptop on incognito mode.....) - though there are a lot of articles out there about the commentary that touch upon a few of the same points.

You know, I watched this again over the last week while I was sick in bed...and I skipped about an hour of it. I'm not sure what that says about its rewatchability.
