Malazan Empire: Are any of the future books going to give us a good look into the past? - Malazan Empire

I for one would love to hear in detail how the Malaz Empire came to be. I know there have been tid-bits here and there in the books so far. But I would love to read about the conquering of Seven Cities, the betrayal of Surly, Dassem Ultor, etc.

Maybe it doesn't have to be in the offical books of the seires. Maybe it can be a side-book or something.

I'm just really intrigued with the history of this series and it's characters. I love Lord of the Rings, but I could not get into it's history; it was just too boring.
