So, scientists/researchers or whatever have recently discovered what looks like flowing water on the surface of Mars! What this means is that there is a possibility of finding life in some form or another on Mars. I admit, it's probably a rather slim possibility, but still. How amazing would it be to find even some single-cell organisms. Proof that we are not alone. Anyways, here's a link to a article explaining it better.

Look, the martian invasion is inevitable. You might as well just accept it.

You're probably right. Just read that Obama is keen as for a manned mission to Mars in the next decade or two, hope his successor is as well.
On a side note, If I were to say humanity is nature's greatest success, would you agree?

Success judged on what scale?
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.'

'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.'

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master — that's all.'

Those astronauts had better get very clear guidance not to open fire on that complex, then. We all know how THAT ended.

In seriousness, it's an impressive, it not unforeseen, find. If we can prove there's life in that place? Well. Implications.

Certainly not unforeseen, scientists have always thought there might be water on Mars, but this is the strongest proof yet. They need to get a rover up there asap.

Interestingly enough, I made this exact point, but to imply that we are a success. We use and abuse, then just create something to replace that resource once its gone. We are a success because we are outgrowing the need to keep a balance.

I'm pretty sure neither the nature nor our planet care much about how we're fucking up everything around us. If we destroy ourselves, it will only take a couple hundred million years for the environment to recover while we will be extinct forever.
So, Humanity will be nature's greats success if it can stop from destroying humanity.

If it was oil we'd be there in 3 years.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

This.

Humanity is the single greatest stain on this planet, we are killing it, ourselves and everything around us on a daily basis. The sooner the comet comes or the volcanoes erupt or some other calamity comes the better. Maybe whatever sentient beings arise next will do a better job of not fucking everything up entirely.

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

I've lost my (bad) literature comedy mojo. But there is more than one Stranger in a Strange Land joke in there.
