In this novel, when T'riss is going to the continent in her ship with her bodyguard, she gets a visit from the Twins (Oponn) and she thoughts "The get of the Errant.", but in DoD (or TCG, I don't remember which) nwe read how the twins came to be (from Sechul Lath).

Error by Esslemont? misdirection from him (wouldn't know why, honestly)?

Sounds like an ICE inconsistency. In TCG its pretty clear that Oponn are the children of Sechul and this is acknowledged by Sechul, Errant, and the Twins.

Interesting observation.
Could be they are the get of both Errant and Sechul.

Or could be T'riss is ignorant of their origins. Just think about it, their function is pretty similar to Erastas'; they push and pull and 'nudge.' And besides, how on earth are they supposed to keep track of all those Ascendants, Elders and gods? The Errant and Setch are cagey to begin with, so it's more than possible, I think.

And Setch is mostly forgotten, while Errastas still seems to be at least a name which the old crew ascendants remember.

Could be the errant was like an uncle to them. Sometimes the people who are with you when you are young rub off on you whether they are related or not. Or maybe she made them in his image to take on his role cause he was an asshole about doing it.

I think you may be taking the children thing a bit too literally. I don't think Sechul actually had kids in the biological sense and raised them. More like they were continuities of his essence.

No i know i was just saying it seems like they all seemed to hang out together, so maybe she shaped them after their "uncle" or he rubbed off on them in some way from being around him. She and her mom dont seem to motherly.

It is curious as to how they create their "children".

There is something in FOD that talks about it a little i think in some way.

Could be a ref to aspect as opposed to origin.
