Once again it's those teasers of what is coming that hooks me when I watch Heroes promos. Coupled with that strange eerie track that runs alongside the clips. I really want to watch this show and yet when I finished Season 2 I really didn't need to watch any more of it.

It would be exciting to see if they can fix it and make it interesting again.

But with so many characters back it makes me think I'd need to watch all the old episodes to know what the old closure point was.

And the shows were getting pretty darn lame. There is a reason I stopped watching. I don't even remember how far I got before I gave up.

Ahhh, HEROES... So much potential, so so much network interference fubarfeste. Probably the most frustrating TV experience of the last decade or so. Solid first season, until halfway thru the finale where the fuckup starts when the showrunners original script is swerved, and never recovered for three more seasons.
I want to believe they can get this right. I want this to be the show we should have gotten rather than what we were inflicted with. Time will tell. I agree that the limited series short run thing is mildly encouraging, but then, the last season had its run cut iirc and that didn't help much.

Re-watching on Netflix from the beginning, because my wife hasn't seen it and has expressed interest in HEROES REBORN when the ads come on TV...so I'm like..."You'll like this for a while, but it goes off the rails eventually"

I do recall Kring stating that he was well aware how they effed up Season 2 (by focusing on new EVO's instead of staying focused on the original ones)...but he wasn't able to right the ship.

I have hope for this, and it is true that a short 6 eps will allow more narrowed focus which will only be good. Also, grown up Micah being in it makes it already kind of a win.

About midway into S1, and so far the only story that stands out as a bit meh is Nikki's (Just Nikki though, Micah and DL's stories are cool). I've always been MEH about her specific power, especially because the super strength is fine, but the whole dissociative identity disorder stuff is tedious while Nikki's is struggling to figure out what's going on. I do like things better when you learn that she's one of three triplets. That gave Ali Larter MUCH more to do down the road.

I just liked the ideal of the triplets being injected by Arthur Petrelli and how they each had different powers. That allowed Larter to act a little more, not that she's the best by any stretch. The Niki character is a little more one-note to me is all.

Not sure if I want to give this another go. Was very into this for the first season. I think I suffered through all of the second but I couldn't stick with it. And to make matters worse I chose to watch this instead of Chuck as they were on during the same time if I remember correctly. As I've since discovered Chuck on Netflix and realized it was a much better show from start to finish I feel robbed. But since Zach is in the reboot I'll probably give it a shot. I like that the fresh start appears to be that after Claire revealed to the world the existence of EVOs at the end of the last episode that in the interim she has been somehow killed (even though I'm unsure of that is possible), and Chuck is hunting EVOs when the world is set to fear them. I like that a lot as a base to set off from on a new series.

It certainly is better than S2 (rehashing S1 with a virus instead of a Sylar), S3 (all hell breaks looose in storytelling all over the place), and especially S4 (Crazy Carnival season!)

I like what I see of HEROES REBORN in trailers and I'm excited to watch the premiere. I think the HEROES mythology and universe has stories to tell which are relevant, and interesting, and I HOPE that Tim Kring learned his lesson.

It was alright. Not super yet, but it was kind of neat remembering things I'd forgotten about. ...the music, that symbol, random stuff like the comic book style episode names.

The video game thing was a little weird, doesn't really seem like it would be a realistic evo power (if that statement even makes sense). The quality of the CG is kind of off putting, but I guess it's ok if they can show decapitations etc because it's a video game... meh...

It reminded me of the first season where everything is a bit mysterious and the vague meta threat that no one sees coming. I think it has potential and will keep watching. Really disturbing seeing Zachary Levi as the bad guy. I'm not so sure about his and his wife's relationship seems off more so than the premise of why they are doing what they are doing. Also any theories about the attack on Odessa that drove that family to start down the path they have chosen? Seems like the only survivors we have seen so far are non-evos. Though with the physical destruction at the site it's probably just a coincidence and we need more info.

I think it's slipping into a lot of what was wrong with the old series. Not fully mind you...there is some decent storytelling here...but there's a lot of filler too.

Like, a lot of what is going on in the show is par for the course in the superhero shows that have basically filled the gap SINCE the original HEROES debuted...it's not new, nor is it all that interesting anymore. With stuff like FLASH and ARROW, and such we've basically done what HEROES REBORN seems to be doing already in the intervening years. Why are we revisiting things like HRG memory wipe, Claire-focus, bad VS good Evo's, secret corporations pulling strings, ect...it's all been done. Miko's story is so similar to Hiro's that all they had to do was change the power...she's still searching for his sword, the same sword.

The guy who can cut pieces of himself and make duplicates...ugh, his acting is so bad that he rivals snow white on OUAT for delivery...terribad. Also, he's not very threatening, and his boss sure isn't either.

I LOATHE that they recast Molly Walker. Adair Tishler is a mere 3 years younger than the 22-year old they cast to replace her (Francesca Eastwood)...so it can't be age that caused the recasting...it just rankles as I thought Adair was excellent when she was on the original, and I think Eastwood overacts.

Am I meant to care about Batman wrestler knockoff Carlos? Cause I don't. I really don't. Even HE doesn't care much. His brother was far better and should not have been killed off.

I'm moderately interested in the "new unknown disaster" that is apparently on its way to test the people with powers...but shit, it's just another "save the cheerleader" macguffin to strive towards. Tell a different story.

The girl in the arctic, controlling the weather/sky...that's kind of cool too, but it's not focused on nearly enough.

I was liking it better than the last season of the original, but that fades with each successive episode that they air and I think "Meh, this could have been MUCH better."
