I have to disagree with this. Once the person or small committee in charge have decided the start date/time of something, it's only natural IMO to send out notices to everyone, not just "hope" everyone else happened to check the thread.

Predetermined date would be best I think. Your Wednesday decision to start the draft and then subsequent start - what if someone was on vacation over this particular weekend? With a predetermined date they could at least plan ahead and send their pick to someone to make it for them.

Or like I suggested above - a grace period for the first round. Considering I was the only who missed it, would it have killed people to wait for me to catch on or see a PM?

Gronk may not be bad, but I have proven one thing in fantasy drafts season after season, in league after league, even when I have losing seasons:

I have a nose for sleepers at the TE position. I never bother drafting TE's in the first rounds because I have targets in the later rounds, and view early TE picks as a waste. And here I picked one in round 1. For my strategy, taking a TE early is no different than drafting a Kicker in the first rounds.

Well, I won't say I can read up on everything while on holiday, but it sounds like so far only the start of the season is in jeopardy, not the whole season itself (yet).

High upside, big risk factor, given the 11 games lost in last two seasons.

Yeah now that I'm looking at my two picks I'm wondering if Romo will revert back to pre 2014 form and is Manning still able to deliver the ball to Thomas. I might have two great picks in name but will they perform? I might be willing to do a trade down the road that includes a running back once I see what we both pick up in the next few rounds.
