Good riddance to bad rubbish.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

just finished the book
the epilogue with duiker was chilling to say the least
seems like their setting up Dassem Ultor to return to the story as well with all this talk of him
gruntle/stonny/iktovian great characters added to the story
the high mage being arthantos was a surprise regardless of me knowing he was more than he seemed
i enjoyed the thoughts of Paran's two sisters, and of the fall of Fener
the whole subplot with the building of the house of chains is great
Dead house is still my favorite book, but this is a close second.
onto house of chains...

Yeah, I did some googling too while reading but luckily the only spoiler I got was a false one

I made that mistake a couple of times. Hope once was enough for you!
Oh, and hang onto Kruppe's hankie for the duration...

You can always post here in the forums something like "Hey everyone, I'm reading HoC right now and would really like to see some fan images of Fiddler but I don't want to risk spoilers, can anyone who is done the books please post some good spoiler-free ones?"

OMG - this ... exactly. I googled someone in the Malazan Wikki and accidentally saw a HUGE, HUUUUUUUUUUUGE spoiler that happened later in the series. I was so pissed. Even the TOR re-read has minor spoilers (and I'm not counting the comments). My sister is reading the series with - first time read for her. I have forbidden her to google anything. I told her the only permissible thing she could do is visit this forum and even then she could ONLY go to the subform related to books she has finished. So now she just calls me and asks tons of questions that I refuse to answer.
There's a Malazan group on FB and there's people there all the time that are 1st time readers - and I keep trying to tell them to go away and don't come back until they are done reading everything since that group is rife with spoilers.

Even these subforums have spoilers of future books. I've decided that visiting anything Malazan related is to risk being spoiled because things are so complex that it's hard to discuss everything that happens, because you always find out later in the books. Erikson never gives us the answers immedietly, EVERYTHING is RAFO. Well, almost everything.

You should be okay as long as you stay within the subfora of the books that you've already read, because they should be spoiler free (or spoiler tagged at least).
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I had a monster death ruined for me while googling who another random character was. Forgot who it was but like second line in wikipedia was like "and he watched blahblahblah die."
Had me so mad since i was like 30 pages away.

OMG?! Whiskeyjack haters?! You can [cut due to potentially offensive nature]!
Seriously though, how can you say that? Whiskeyjack was a great character. The scene nearly had me crying :'(
"[...] I have walked this land when the T'lan Imass were but children. I have commanded armies a hundred thousand strong. I have spread the fire of my wrath across entire continents, and sat alone upon tall thrones. Do you grasp the meaning of this?' 'Yes,' [said Caladan Brood.] 'You never learn."

Similar thing happened to me, except it was worse cause I didn't go googling anything.
Saw a reddit post the other day that was titled "Why was Trotts named Trotts" or something, and I took it as Trotts dying at some point. Sure enough the following day I read about the demise of several Bridgeburners including Trotts.

Also met a monster death spoiler whilst innocently Wikiing on my first read through - won't say who, as it's from a later book.

I once got spoiled on ASOIAF about Tyrion killing someone on another forum. It was in a thread's first post reply without any warning only a tag. The troll got banned but the damage had been done.. It ruined my week lol.
