I'm asking this because I think its quite a fun question (plus it gives the writer an insight of how people percieve their style, which may be useful).
Ok, the rule is simple. If you have read one of the would-be-authors, tell us which established author is most like them in style.
I'll start.
Gamet - GRRM, and I can see he already knows it.
Lady A - Frank Herbert (her use of thoughts etc)
Shinrei - Had to think hard on this one. Alan Dean Foster (especially Carnivores of Light and Darkness). You should read this book, mate, I think it'll be right up your avenue. Quirky, imaginative, unique, and really good fun to read.
I'll post more as I read more.
