Haven't read Fishing with Grandma matchie yet, but then again I haven't read any Korbal and Broach either...

Also, I guess I am really a huge SE fangirl, I can't keep myself from hunting down all he's written. I can't say I would recommend Grandma Matchie to everyone, because it's REALLY different, but it's fun. And fun to draw. So here's another character from that story. Is this a story based artwork? Do things end badly?

Thanks. I'm trying to get a hang on how to work with colours (I'm mostly a black/white lineart person, even though I rarely post that kinda stuff).

It's based on Robin Hobb's Liveship Traders trilogy, which I am currently reading and which is excellent, so I'm going to be trying my hand on some more fanart of that before I go back to Malazan. No particular scene, though, just some elements throws together (ship and dragon). It probably makes more sense when one knows the books, since that ship can talk - and has a temper

Actually shipsdoing things shouldn't do makes good stories. I just finished my re-read of RotCG. I had forgotten the flying ship barreling through the battle ground. I think this book would make the best Malazan movie. thoroughly convinced.

Not sure how I miss these things but now I'm trolling Pinterest trying to get ship reference. This image must happen!

Totally agree with Worry that it is big time suitable

I was thinking Queen of Dreams when I saw that image although I think she is dark-haired. But the style... yes, I really love it. It's great when people use different styles to depict the Malazan world

Ooh, the colours look much better by daylight than when it trundled in and I though the print waaay too dark
