Kill all those guys round the bonfire to get the loot, then you won't have to go back. The lamp is through the gate.

Then it's witches time!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Hm, just came back to the nexus Hunter's dream and the building's on fire, and
Spoiler

Must be getting near the end, I guess?

I've pretty much finished the main story now, but there's a couple of 'optional' bosses I want to go back and kick in the teeth while I wait for Witcher 3.

I hope W3 is as good as it looks - and not just padded with loads of collectable crap like AC.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

If Witcher 2 is anything to go by 3 will be excellent. Alongside the first DS, Witcher 2 was probably my favourite last gen game.

Not had a chance to play in a while and been on Destiny when I have been, still got Martyr Logarius, The One Reborn, and Ebrietas on the go. Been attempting all 3 and not really having any luck.

I recall the trailer for Witcher 2...with a guy jumping on a ship to assassinate a king...and it was like the greatest video game trailer I'd ever seen.

That is the best video game trailer I've ever seen.

I'm still playing Dark Souls 2, so Bloodborne will be next up, then I'll get to Witcher 1, 2 and eventually 3.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I think I've nearly finished. I'm at that stage like in DS where you find the path to newgame, but then go back to see if there's anything you missed.

Like finally beating Logarius last night. Was easier to do with a +10 sword. And finding the 'original' workshop.. that's kind of freaky.

I'd forgotten that W2 trailer. It's still awesome!

Don't think I've got the materials to get to +10 yet, might be worthwhile getting there before I attempt him again though!

I didn't get the bloodstone chunk until the Nightmare of Mensis. Which isn't far off if you get past the One Reborn.

Totally worth it though; with the right upgrades it does a stupid amount of damage.

All the videos of the One Reborn make it look super easy, seems to barely attack them. Seems every time I do he goes mental with AoE and stamping and I get killed super quick.

Yeah I didn't have much trouble - didn't lock on, ran round him hitting him, then gettung out the way. Got him second go I think.

QT did you find the brute near the Forbidden Woods lamp? Good for farming if you need more echoes fast.

Those snakes are a pain, I had more problems with the snake-headed men though. Have you got any Bone Marrow Ash that boost shot power? They're pretty good for taking them out from a distance with a gun.

It's only worth playing if you enjoy it. Each to their own.. I've only played a couple of hours of Shadow of Mordor because it got such good reception, but I doubt I'll return to it.

I recently started playing. It's the first game I play in ages and the very first on a console. I managed the cleric beast without too much trouble on my second try and then made the mistake of attacking Eileen. I managed to kill her by luring her off the rafters. So now I'm contamplating if I farm the 40000 for her weapons in the first area, which would take ages, or if I keep trying to kill Gascoigne...

It makes you wish for a Kalam Mekhar and Quick Ben game made by CD Project.

Go kill Gascoigne. I haven't had to farm for a weapon for the whole game. And you might not like them even once you've just spent 40k on them.

Hah, that was awesome,I just found and beat Amygdala, followed closely by Ebrietas.

Amygdala wasn't that bad; I even managed an accidental visceral attack on its head at one stage, which I never seem to manage in boss fights.

Ebrietas is a beast. I gave up the last time I tried, but heading back with my super buffed sword I started bashing away and got her down to half before I got stomped on. So after a few one hit kills from her, I managed to keep bashing her head in while it was lowered, keeping her stunned until dead.

Might have to check out the chalice dungeons a bit more now before the final showdown.

What's the relationships between bosses? Why are you - the player - the solution to what's going on in the game?

I've played a TON of Dark Souls and am currently working my way through Lost Bastille in Dark Souls 2. I've noticed that there's usually some underlying story behind why the monsters/bosses are the way they are. I haven't figured it out yet for Dark Souls 2, but the first one's scope (augmented by some extra curricular reading I did once I beat the game a couple times) was IMMENSE.

Is Bloodborne the same set-up?

It's very similar to DS in its complexity, and the way the story is only accessible through reading the descriptions on artifacts and items, finding occasional notes, or talking to certain npcs.

The bosses are linked through a story - some are ancient, some were trying to achieve that power, and others were trying to stop them from gaining it. I won't give it away here as it's interesting to unravel as you play - also I've yet to see the ending.

I'm sure Witcher 3 will keep me busy for a while, but I'm already thinking about Scholar of the First Sin - upgraded DS2 with new enemy placements. I wish they'd upgrade DS, I'd be all over that.

This game. I love the atmosphere and the gameplay. This provides for the joy of DS 1, something I didn't get in DS2.
