You know they're gonna drag the Mat reveal out as long as possible.

Initially I assumed it would just be the Pattern three that were announced, but then they dropped Nynaeve and I was like...oh shit we are getting everyone!

Love the Perrin and Mat casting.

Not so sure about Rand.

Like both Nynaeve and Egwene

I'm quite happy with the way the cast is rounding out. Glad it's mostly unknowns (or young and up and coming actors).

What? Those actors are clearly not in their mid 50s.

Got no complaints so far, though I don't recognize any of them off the top of my head, like in terms of if I've seen them act before.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Casting relative unknowns (at least to begin with) didn't hurt Thrones, so why not.

I'm interested! Kind of sad I looked at the comments on the FB page though. Everything is a conspiracy against white people again.....Posted Image

I'm interested in what Terez will have to say.

And while we're at it - anyone got a Ouija board for RJ's thoughts?

;)

Perrin doesn't seem big enough in that photo.
EDIT: looks tall in another shot, but not ... large framed? Blacksmith shoulders? Shrug - they'll probably get him a personal trainer and a protein heavy diet.

I mostly agree with you here - they'd better not slap a red wig on that Rand actor and make him look ridiculous. Otherwise, the guy's kind of like, standard teenage hearthrob, which, realistically, should be fine for a Rand character as long as the kid can at least kind of act.

Mat is excellently cast, methinks, at least in the looks department. Perrin's not quite as buff/beary as I pictured him, but otherwise I'm optimistic.

Nynaeve and Egwene are both excellently cast as well! The Egwene actress looks kind of snobby/prissy like Egwene, and I think the Nynaeve actress will fill the "Wisdom" role very well!

HUGE fan of the fact that they've decided on an ethnically diverse cast! Gonna look great!

I'm happy enough for now. No use getting hung up on what you think the characters should look like, though there's some merit to the idea that all the Two Rivers folk (except for Rand) should be the same ethnicity, whatever ethnicity that happens to be. Ultimately, it's far more important that they be able to act the parts, and we've yet to see that. I'm sure they will be fine.

There really are a lot of angry white people on WoT social media today, but after the Ariel drama it's all kind of ho-hum and stfu.

That's very revealing about the angry people. I would cut ties with anyone I know who got upset about it.

It's not anyone I know; just randos on public Facebook pages and Twitter and YouTube. There was this one dude on Facebook who was like "they look like crap except matt" and then he went on this rant about how he's read the books 10 times and we need to reread them and I was like "dude you read the books 10 times and you can't even spell Mat".

The "visual" element amuses me with people's complaints. Putting aside the horrible overtones that are going on for a moment (which whilst inevitable are still disappointing) - it's amazing how quickly people forget that, for example, Emilia Clarke is not a violet-eyed platinum blonde, and John Rhys Davies is not in fact Gimli-sized in real life (quite the opposite in fact). As far as I recall, neither fact spoiled either adaption they featured in.

Unconvinced by the Nynaeve casting. Brow isn't scarred from creasing downwards which may damage suspension of disbelief.
