I'll admit I just started it and I'm only about 40 pages in, but so far I've only really laughed at Printlip's deflation gag, and a few of Sawback's opening remarks to his new crew...it's not bad, just kind of standard-y.
Will I get into it?

Does it get better?

Only read the free chapter that was released a while ago and I got the impression that it wasn't really for me. Too much of a fanfic vibe to it.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

That's kind of my thinking so far. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise, but for now it's just kind of "meh".

It's largely episodic, and rather hit-and-miss IMO. It's uh much better than Sliders but not as good as Quantum Leap, on average? Not that it has anything at all to do with either, but I don't really know Star Trek. I do know Futurama and it's rarely as good as that. The sex stuff never gets funny, but the latter half of the book is much better than the first half in terms of adventures. My point is, the sex stuff sucks, but the first half is "meh" and the second half rises above "meh" into entertaining so you'll generally never drop below "meh" standards if that's your concern (not accounting for the conversion rate into Canadian "meh" though). Plus it's short.

Shut up and keep reading, it's brilliant.
....Of course, that's just my opinion. Which you should accept as gospel.

It doesn't have Wolverine in it, though.

I loved the hell out of this book, imagined Nathan Fillion (Firefly/Serenity/Castle) as the captain.
And yes, it's too short, I want more of it.
