Turning the AC up makes the room cold. Always. At least thats my experience.

Anyway the NK is clearly a changeling. A full Sidhe would probably have reverted to Sidhe form after death. What intrigues me is that this was a shooting and there was a 'gangland shooting' during another night. There so seem to be a lot of bullets flying around. I think the human governemnt faction is getting pretty aggressive.

This debate about AC is perhaps my favourite thing in Mafia since the Rashy and Tiamy show.

It's been that long since we've had an iconic meme-worthy mome?

Correct, Turning the AC up in-fact makes the air colder. This effectively means you are turning the power, putting more energy to the unit to the AC to yield more desirable results. If you turn it down, you are lowering the amount you pay on your monthly bill which makes the place warmer. This is the meaning behind this statement.

I propose we lynch Silanah for his radical new interpretation of how an AC works.
Also, I suppose fot trying to slander Summer's good name or some such...

It's the most recent one I can remember.

I discussed this earlier.

1. How then do humans win? PS wouldn't put an unwinnable faction in, I don't think. Completely unbalanced at that point.
2. One of the Queens tried to downplay this aspect as a "PS" thing.

"Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!"

I would guess that the humans would win by 1) not joining either Sidhe faction, and 2) lynching everyone else.

If this were a town vs scum game, they'd be like roleless innos - their main power is the lynch.

Given the presence of Changelings who can decide whether or not to declare for either court, or stay human, the vanilla humans would start with ranks bolstered by changelings, but have a chance to lose people because of changelings deciding to join either Sidhe faction, or by being recruited by one of the queens (presumably).

Also, the shadowy government agency (the one we've been calling the FBI) is likely a human faction, so probably bolsters their ranks with some kill abilities and whatnot.

Reading this earlier stuck a chord. Have "we" been calling it the FBI? I know I referred to "badges" but I don't recall anyone else mentioning a specific agency name.

Deliberate obtuseness is so frustrating.

Seems pretty clear to me.

vote Tennes

For not only having the gall to insinuate the idea that it's okay to waste a lynch, but to continue defending that point with ridiculous assertions.

What ever. You seem to be to far up your own ass to think out side of the box. I thinking why would the queens need changlings to choose a side? I mean if it is a straight forward 2 person (tyrant steve game) with a included hunter-killer party. It got me wondering. Well since today is day 1 and no changlings have made a choice yet. It would stand to reason that the queens are at there weakest. The queens have to get something other then a vote from the changlings. That got me to thinking. Tennes I said. I like to think in thirdperson alt. Tennes I said if you had designed the game as you have been known to do from time to time what would you have done to make the queens want to recruit. Well I Tennes I would have probably have done a couple of variations. From a 15 player minimum Tennes. Oh right. Oh right. Well lets take 2 queens out so now we have 13 players to play with.
Town has to have a majority. So if each queen starts with 2 players as shields then that removes 6players from the 15 leaving us with 9 players. Then because the fbi needs to have something to couteract the queens unlynchabilty. So say 3 players for them. So now you have 6 players as town...hmmmm Possibly Tennes but that isn't a lot to swing a majority. I mean the fbi isn't going to want to vote with a queen that has changling recruits. You have to figure that there are finders and players with various abilities on there team. That is a good point Tennes. If one queen had 2 recruits then she would have a 5 person faction while town would be 4 the other queen would still be at 3 and then the fbi. That is a long and painful game.

Wait Tennes what if you increased the town size to say 10. Take away the day 1 body guards. Well that would just be stupid Tennes. I know but what if we put in language in the op. Oh you mean something like they can't be lynched but feel free to try. Something along those lines. Yeah something like that. Well tennes how would the queens keep from getting lynched. Say each new changling who commits to one side or another they become the bodyguards.... So then the FBI would have a harder time narrowing down the body guards, well yeah. But the queens would be vunerable day 1. I don't like that Tennes. I wouldn't do it. I would put 1 bodyguard to start with and then have them increase as changlings choose sides. Hmmm.. I don't know Tennes. I could see it working either way. If you take Malaz mafia players into account. They can barely get a lynch done on a normal game. I think the queens would be fine on day one with out any body guards. Hmm tennes it is an idea. I mean if the queens where going to start off weak then day 1 would be when they would be vulnerable to a potential lynch. But wouldn't that break the game? Not necessarily Tennes. I would just make the other queen into a straight tyrant steve scenario. Pow!

Why cant the queens stay alive for the residents to be happy? Just like throughout all those years....

Tellen and Tulas shorn look like normal residents to me.

Thnk about that.

A thought here. Pallid and/or Korbas: can you give any indication that your VC is not the elimination of your counter-part?

We have an independent (of some sort) suggesting that that may be the case. Said suggestion coming after it was fairly clear they were going to be lynched.

Okay being absolutely hammered at work so don't have a lot of (any) time to post, reading up but not much more than that.

I really don't like a vote on Korlat. Togg, otoh, has been kinda off this last page.It feels like he is trying to derail the thread with suggesting different courses of action and not providing any reason to follow any singel one of the courses.

As to why I was pussy footing around before with my usggestions is that I was trying to point us in the direction of lynching all of the sidhe without getting my throat cut in the night :)

@Tulas: Yeah is isn't great to just stop playing when the queens target you like that, but those requirements added so much time onto every post and I was already busy at work. It just wasn't worth all that extra effort.

Having to google some unknown singers songs to find lyrics, then format them into Yoda speak then go through my whole post like that? Nah.

To recap;

We have humans, independants, winter, summer. That is four factions in this game, since it is a cult game I would be stunned if the team sizes were equal starting off, so winter/summer should have started with the fewest members. So if Mab is claiming winter has 1/3rd of the population then that means that most of the humans/independants have thrown in with them already, which is somewhat distressing that the game may be over sooner than we thought. Winter lost someone last night but maybe that just put them less in the lead, rather than put things back on an equal footing.

What do we do to stop a landslide of humans/changelings throwing in with winter?

I don't know what to say to that question. It's complicated. Yes no and maybe.

I disagree with that premise.

We have 3 populations - humans, changelings, sidhe.

We have at least 3 groups - Summer faction, Winter faction, human group handing out invitations to fellow humans with offer of influence and riches.
Plus X number of independents.
Plus a possible shadowy government agency.

I suspect the shadowy government agency folks ARE the independents.

Gentleman Johnny Marcone - he's a vanilla human, but he's also a Freeholding Lord under the Unseelie Accords thanks to Harry Dresden and has slowly been making inroads in the supernatural world (for example he's got Valkyries and Einherjar on the payroll, etc.)
