There are a couple things about Korlat that have been bothering me.

First he seems to keep trying to point out that it is going to be "too difficult" to get rid of both queens. This is a viewpoint that he seems to push a bit with several of his posts with no alternative voiced.

I wonder what will happen if one of the queens in dead? Are they not their opposites and need each other for balance? If we get rid of one I have a feeling the other will be able to create mayhem.

I am repeating myself here, but in this post Korlat takes the strange stance that someone has lost a power level. Why the hell would that be someones first conclusion with the information given? I already asked this and was ignored.

Gonna be Captain Obvious here. These seem like the power levels of the players. The two fives are most likely the queens and looks like someone did something wrong and lost a power level as well.

Is this something we get every night? We didn't get it last time.

Here Korlat seems to know nothing about how the changelings work. Even after it has been made pretty clear that the changelings are meant to pick a side.

View PostKorlat, on 21 January 2015 - 02:20 AM, said:

I wonder if changelings can choose to either join the human or sidhe factions depending on how the game is going. Again, dont know if it translated into the game, but if you look at the wiki a changeling can choose either or. Maybe something to consider as Summer lost one of the guards or players aligned with her, so that might have given the winter-sidhe changelings some confidence to turn to that side.

Given all of this I feel that Korlat is a high power player for one of the queens, aka a shield. He keeps trying to steer the arguments away from looking for ways to get rid of the queens and it feels to me like he is trying to push the thinking towards finding the other human agency without actually saying anything outright.

Vote Korlat

I'm not amiss to this and would change to get a lynch here. Some of the cases are fuzzy because I've been sleeping for most of the past few days. This is a good reminder.

I agree with quite a bit of what you say, Tholen. Korlat certainly comes across as not a low-level player. Silanah also gives me a similar feeling.

The only caveat to Korlat being that they could also be high-level human, rather than a shield, and that's why their changeling thought posts seem off.

Could he be a high level human? Sure. Just doesnt really read that way to me with him trying to push us away from trying to lynch either queen.

Morning folks! I see that there hasn't been much progress on thread. I guess it's a damn good thing that I took the time to actually have some conversations yesterday seeing as pretty much nobody else seems to want to. Not much has changed, though Tholen did say something that made me uncomfortable.

I realize that I'm one of the people who has been discussing the changeling mechanics, but I don't think that it has 'been made pretty clear' exactly what the changelings are meant to do, though chances are the speculation that's on thread is most likely close to the mark.

At any rate, it just rubs me the wrong way, makes me think 'if it's so clear to you, then you must be a changeling.'

If that is the case, then what? Do you think changelings should be lynched?

If changelings are the ones who can choose to join the Sidhe courts, they'd be the biggest threat to we humans - we want to keep the Sidhe courts as small as possible so that we can find the Queens' shields and then get rid of the queens.

If there's some kind of inheritance mechanic in play as has been suggested previously (though I'm very on the fence about this one), it would be doubly worrisome.

At any rate, I'm not saying that we should lynch Tholen right away, but I wanted to point out that he could possibly be a changeling, so we need to keep an eye on him, that's all.

Hey there numb nuts. Check out the part in red

Once again, Mab and Titania are at each others throats in the beautiful city of Chicago. No one knows what set them off this time, but it seems that almost all their troops are defending the borders of reality from the outsiders, so they must turn those that they had previously ignored. The cast offs. The changelings.

They are offering prime places in their courts for any who declare for them and help drive out the hated enemy.

Humans just want peace, but the thought of power and immortality is certainly attractive to some.

Be warned, a shadowy government organization has taken interest in all the odd happenings in Chicago, and is in town investigating.

The changelings can obviously declare for one side or the other. Along with another line from the OP stating that changelings qualify as both human and sidhe its glaringly fucking obvious that changelings sit in a neutral position to start, with the ability to choose a side. So even if I am a changeling its means fuck all. Now why would care to obfuscate that point? And if me "obviously being a changeling" (which by the way probably make up a majority of the players) makes me bad in your eyes, then what the hell are you?

So you are definitively stating that you are human. Great at least we know where you stand at this point. So check out the next part in red.

You being human does not preclude you from choosing a side. So regardless of what I happen to be any shit you want to sling around will apply just as well to you

How long left in the day?

I'd vote almost anyone but it'd be a 1 in 3 shot I'd lynch one of my minions. That's to move the game on I'd vote...maybe.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

Well, for one, I never said that you were "obviously" a changeling, I just said that it's something that I was going to keep an eye on.

Secondly, if you read the OP stuff well, it says that the Queens are offering PRIME places in their court to the changelings that declare for them. That, to me, sounds like they're going to get some rad abilities, and I'm weary of anyone gaining any rad abilities for joining the courts I'm trying to winnow down.

Thirdly, why the nuclear explosion? I was just pointing things out that I noticed. I neither made any direct accusations, nor voted you. Did I maybe hit on something important?

1/3 eh?

That's some information you wouldn't give up willingly, I 'd think. Unless you are retarded. I don't think you are retarded.

So, what's the actual goal there?

Why does profanity always have to mean someone is having a nuclear fucking explosion? I find it to simply be a more fun way to add emphasis to certain phrasings. So rather than using the more commonly accepted adjectives and adverbs I choose to use those.

This raises all dorts of red lights. I am more hesitant than ever to vote now. Too little evidence.

I think its pretty clear that changelings have to declare for either side. They are in dmeand at the courts, but to get said 'prime' places thay can't be vanilla human, they have to be Sidhe . IN the books, once you declare for Sidhe, humanity is lost, youa re Sidhe., IN this game, there are only two Sidhe factions. So any declared Sidhe must join either summer/winter as the Erlking unaligned group is not present int he game.

Is anyone else confused by the behavior of the queens?

If this is a recruitment game, shouldn't they be sucking up to players and not antagonizing them? One person stepped away from the rest of the game today because of the stupid restrictions. I basically stopped posting Day 1 because I was sick of having to use pictures. If you want me to join your team, I don't think a good strategy is to make the game tedious for me.

Of course, we don't know what restrictions they are under but the whole thing seems strange and a losing strategy, and yet BOTH are doing it.

I gotta figure they know who are in their groups and yet they aren't giving any help as to identifying the opposing faction. I just find it bizarre.

I have been wondering about this from the same point, it also seems they have to use a certain amount of times each day. I earlier tried to get targeted by this, but they wouldn't for some reason. I was following this thinking it might lead somewhere, but have drawn no specific conclusions on it. Are they targeting their own people to draw attention away?

I was the first or one of the first targeted and it meant nothing, otherwise I wouldn't have brought it up as there would have been a connection. It is seemingly random.

I discussed this earlier.

1. How then do humans win? PS wouldn't put an unwinnable faction in, I don't think. Completely unbalanced at that point.
2. One of the Queens tried to downplay this aspect as a "PS" thing.

"Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!"

I would guess that the humans would win by 1) not joining either Sidhe faction, and 2) lynching everyone else.

If this were a town vs scum game, they'd be like roleless innos - their main power is the lynch.

Given the presence of Changelings who can decide whether or not to declare for either court, or stay human, the vanilla humans would start with ranks bolstered by changelings, but have a chance to lose people because of changelings deciding to join either Sidhe faction, or by being recruited by one of the queens (presumably).

Also, the shadowy government agency (the one we've been calling the FBI) is likely a human faction, so probably bolsters their ranks with some kill abilities and whatnot.
