Am I remembering this right? RE: Lostara

In one of the earlier books in the series there was a woman shadow dancer that was basically a slave - and she danced once and Quick Ben was there and she specifically noticed him (and he noticed her) and it was implied that she slept with him, or wanted to and he helped her escape - I think that dancer was Lostara - correct? Because then later Cotillion saves her at Y'ghaten because he also watched her dance...
Assuming it was Lostara - did we ever see a scene between her and QB acknowledging that they'd met? Just seems odd to me that they'd be in all these command meetings together and never recognize each other - even if it is 15 years later.
Kind of a random question for the DoD forum, but the bit at the end when Lostara danced got me thinking about it.

It was indeed Lostara, I believe. And now that you mention it, they really never talked about that, the two of them. I guess Lostara must have changed quite a lot since then, from wide-eyed acolyte to trained soldier. (Did she shave off her hair too, or is that only my image of her?) On the other hand, Pardu tattoos do make it hard not to notice her...

I think QB was partially hidden when Lostara was performing and she might not have connected QB to that scene.

I can't remember what book that scene was in - was it DG? seem to recall that she specifically noticed him and thought of him in a sexual way (and he specifically noticed her). Either way it isnt a huge deal... it just seemed like a story thread that might have gone somewhere later, but never did.

If i remember right, Quick and Lostara did the frick frack, while someone else, maybe Kalam? went through and killed everyone else. So essentially Quick saved her.

I was wrong in my previous comments and she reminisces about it in HoC.
She even remembers him as Delat.

Tall, thin, a laughing face, remarkably long-fingered, almost effeminate hands - hands the sight of which awakened in her new emotions.

Yup. I think the idea is that QB was the one 'officially' visiting, but Dancer was there in secret with QB and was the one doing the assassinating... so Dancer saw the dance, too, Lostara just didn't know he was even there at the time.

As to why this is never raised during or after a command meeting it is quite possible that Lostara Yil could not associate a visiting high-ranking dignitary of shadow to Quick Ben, scruffy mage extraordinaire. As for why Quick did not acknowledge it, that would mean QB actually admitting to being at a particular place in a particular time and performing some particular actions, the very essence of which goes violently against his "hide totally" philosophy.

If we're going to speculate or come up with a reason to explain it (other than it was just a small thread that Erikson forgot about), it would be easiest to assume they acknowledged they knew each other and they both had moved on - and that the conversation took place in private "off screen".
