No spoilers past chapter 5 please.

Strings just announced himself in command of his squad, when Gesler comes up with his squad. He says that Gesler was a captain and Stormy was an Adjutant before. I recall that Gesler had been demoted at some point, but I don't recall any more. Was this elaborated on previously or do I just need to RAFO?

EDIT: Looking back briefly at the Tor reread I only found reference to him being demoted when he first meets Coltaine, who remembers him being demoted.

Not sure what you're asking about in terms of a relationship. Gesler and Stormy are fairly notorious, at least among veteran marines, for their multiple demotions and for being heavy in the Boar Cult.

Question about the beginning of chapter 7: Heboric is talking to Karsa and Leoman about plots within the Whirlwind, and Leoman says that Bidithal is taking a liking to young girls, specifically young Felisin, then talks about a possibly wide ranging plot headed by Febryl that Bidithal will likely reveal when he's invited into it. Heboric sees this for Leoman trying to get back in Felisin's graces, and he says Leoman really hasn't told about Bidithal but Leoman says she was told about Bidithal being with young girls, just not Felisin. I'm confused why ommiting would get him back into Felisin's inner circle. Is he thinking that if she knew Bidithal was going after Felisin, he would be killed and thus couldn't be used to expose the plot? Or is the entire Bidithal-younger Felisin thing made up?

EDIT: I think I understand it, he won't tell Felisin about him predating on younger Felisin because then she'll actually be angry and wouldn't allow the conspiracy to be revealed.

You got it. He doesn't want her to act out in anger but still wants to try and protect Felisin younger so he is asking him to help keep an eye on the situation.
