I've tried super glue, as that was right next to me, but it didn't work. I wasn't really expecting it to work, but I figured I'd try it. Anyone have any advice on how to get the cover reattached?

Also, feel free to post pictures of your own au naturale novels.

Whats on the last page of the book? If it is blank, you could take a sheet of paper (or a fancy 'endpaper') and essentially fold it in half, cut it to size, and glue it to both the cover and the last page of the book.

Might look kind of awkward though. If its too thin, it will tear, but if its think, it will stick out... but its something I suppose.

This is basically what is done when you cover a hardbound book. If you look at the endpaper, it is just glued to the hardcover and to the last page of the book.

On that note, there is specific glue used for book binding that might adhere better to the ripped cover and what remains of your book.

Last suggestion, buy a new one? I just got a gently used hardcover of CoD for $6 on ebay. You would probably be able to find one in slightly better condition than yours currently is for cheaper than the glue you might have to buy, even if its only like $2.

Have you considered making a leather bound set of Malazan?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Depending on where you go and what you want, that could range from $60 to $600. Also, its more expensive to re-case a softcover than it is to hardcover, because you actually have to hand stitch the paper together since they are only glued.

I got "book glue" once and to be honest It just made it worse, a used one in better condition than yours will probably be cheaper than glue. Also, putting paperbacks in a plastic cover helps keep them in good nick, the ones I take in my bag for reading on the bus would probably be wrecked otherwise!

Best. Euphemism. Ever.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Honestly, 'book glue' is just fancy elmer's glue. if you go that route, just take a flat edge and spread it evenly on the surface.

There's special book tape out there that's treated to not come off again or get discoloured with time. Depending on how much you want to spend, you can just use normal tape, but that's got the aforementioned downsides. Just tape the backcover back on, on both sides (inside and outside of the book). Or you could buy a new/used copy, but taping in back on is what I'd do (and actually have done before) if I really wanted to keep that special book.
