He watched as they beat up the man who looked like a walking scar. No need to intervene with that as long as they don’t see me. But what was the connection with the Damned. He did recognise the assassin as a member of the guild. Jeras didn’t stay long enough to see the man getting pissed at the assassin.
But where in the seventh circle of Hoods realm had the men gone he was following. A small pebble falling on his head remembered him of his friend on the rooftop. After climbing up he walked over to where Harp was crouching.
“They went strait thru that wall.”
“Great warrens. Just what I need, “
“Just watch the place till I get back.”
“Why in Hoods name do I always get the waiting things?”
“Cuz I say so. Don’t go in there you hear.”
Muttering Jeras looked for a comfortable position to watch the alley.
He was just getting comfortable when he heard some noise coming his way. Rising to his feet he saw two men coming his way.
“You don’t want to stay here to long.”
“That’s bad for your health.”
Pulling his longsword from it’s scabbard he watched them come closer.
“Tough guy hè not saying anything.”
“Lets just clean him out of here.”
Coming at him from two sides he started his shadowdance.

“What in the Rope’s name happened to you?”
“Looks like they had some guards at that entrance.”
“Looks bad, how does it feel?”
“It’s just dried blood, Mechail already fixed me up Harp. He said Rath’Shadowtrone wanted to see us right away.”
“Aye seems there some other stuff going on that’s more imported than the Turoki.”
‘They are sure some badass fighters though.”
At that moment Rath’Shadowtrone storms into the room. The priest ,normally unreadable for his underlings, looks like he just when a couple of rounds with the Rope himself.
“Jeras they already got you here. Well that doesn’t matter. We have a big problem. Someone in the city found a weapon that should not be here.”
Giving the priest a confused look the two assassins give each other an even more puzzled look. Meanwhile the priest goes on without noticing.
“A sword with elder shadow and meneas in it has surfaced somewhere within these walls.”
Pacing around the priest doesn’t look happy and when the priest doesn’t look happy it usually meant that Jeras an Harp would not be happy until this was resolved.
“I want you two to find that blade before he does something with it that the God would not like.”
“ What does it look like?” Jeras asked.
“A big black stone sword, like that of an Imass.”
“Never seen an Imass but we’ll find it”

So out they when looking for a man with a big black sword.

Saul limped up the main street, the tails of his tattered robe trailing on the ground, leaving a trail swept free of rubble. All was in play, the pieces were set and moving into position. Soon all would bear fruit and his time would come... Unless that damned hot head did something to screw it all up. He frowned back over his shoulder. Ah well, too late now. All in the lap of the gods. Inwardly he winced at his own use of that hated saying. He well knew how fickle the gods were, if all was in their hands, then he was in trouble. Muttering under his breath his resumed his limping shuffle.

After Seevo left Tani lightly limped towards the edge of the window. Hood damn you Seevo! I swear I'll thump you good next time... Tani peered out cautiously, looking to the estate accross the street. After a few glances, she then turned her attention to the cushion in her hand. She frowned down at it, the filthy feather-filled pillow was lumpy and smelled of... Beru Fend what is that smell? A sound outside brought her attention back to the window. An old woman was cursing two young boys who were quickly dissapearing up the street, with what seemed to be bricks clutched in their flailing arms. Tani sighed as she watched the hapless old woman struggle to her feet, noticing that she had a bread basket. The boys had thieved food from the woman. The young lads were probably orphans, their parents being killed in the seige.

After the commotion had died down, Tani had thrown the smelly cushion away to a far corner and sat on her haunches just below the rim of the window. Now what? She studied the estate accross the street and all seemed quiet. Damn this. I finaly get promoted, and now I'm stuck in this Hood damned hovel. She sighed. Don't get flustered Byntor, be patient, everything you have planned will work out, it just takes time...

After three bells her legs started to ache. She had succumbed to the monotony of doing nothing but watching, and now knelt uncomfortably on the floor. She glanced over at the discarded pillow and scowled. A few moments later it was beneath her.

A shadowy figure dropped over the almost repaired walls and landed with a muffled thump in a dark alley. He ducked into a recessed doorway as a number trader wagons rumbled down the street just to his right. He reached out and grabbed the closest guard and dragged the man into the shadows to dispatch of him quietly. After he had removed the mans heavy cloak and wrapped it around himself he emerged from the alley and set off down the almost empty street.He smiled, This city is ripe for the taking

Tani visibly flinched when the stranger leaped through the window. Damn, how did I miss that? She rised to meet the man, drawing her short sword. The smile on his face was sickeningly arrogant. Good. Over confident. A weakness. She stood silent and still.

After a few moments she lunged towards the man. Sparks flew as the blades connected. She was being pushed back towards the doorway, his smile never faulting. She figured she'd have a better chance on the rooftops so she kicked the stranger hard in the shins then took the opportunity to make her way up. She sheathed her sword once arrived, then turned and waited for him, crossbow ready.

A quater of a bell later, he had'nt come to meet her, so she edged her way back down, cautious that the stranger still lurked below. She drew her sword again, re-slinging the crossbow onto her back. She grew tired of waiting, and wanted the matter ended. She wouldn't tell the man anything ofcourse. She wanted to kill the pompous bastard. Damnit Byntor, how did you get yourself into this mess? This was all supposed to be a diversion, so you could get your own plans underway. A nice quiet little watching post, to bide your time. As she re-entered the room with the smelly cushion and the lone window, she froze.

"Well, a merchant like me wandering around the backstreets wants to feel what kind of pace this is before asking any local people if they want to trade. Well my gaurds who travelled with me died fighting against some big dogs don't know what they were, only me and my man servent actually survived the ordeal and i was going to get some more gaurds before leaving in a couple of weeks"
"And may i enquire why are you young beautiful woman is here and may i enquire to your name as well?"
After that he brings a canter full of wine and drinks some of it.
"would you like some?"

"What is a merchant doing wandering around the backstreets? Better yet what is a merchant doing alone in the backstreets?" She waited for him to respond but he did not.
"Why are you the only merchant in the city without an armed guard?"

Well hiding's not going to do me any good if they actually want to find me She crawled out from behind a pile of rubble and looked around. She wasn't too far from the Sheild Inn so she decided to go there and find a place to stay. A bed would be the ultimate luxery right now This city was full of theives and assasins all working for the guilds or maybe just catching up on some personal business. Whatever it was she wanted to be far away as soon as possible.

As Lord Gordonis came out of the Shield inn, he turned and walked until he found another inn although he had a few drinks. What the hell see what i can find.

The wind brang the stench of death, and given the closeness of the city not so long besieged and overrun, Capustan, it was not a suprise for Zathaar. He was standing on a hill, holding the reins of his mount, observing the landscape before him. The city was battered, broken. Yet it was getting back to life.
Not more than four miles of straight, road in the open plain now, Zathaar thought. He had mounted his horse and rode back, to see the merchant wagon ride uphill, escorted by five blunt, bear-sized men. Zathaar's current underlings.
Work with these was never a pleasure for the mercenary, but the pay was good and escorting the merchant in that time of the year was a very easy task. The merchant, Dimal, is sure to make great profits in the near-dead city, and Zathaar hoped for a good job there too.
Without a word he rode in front of the wagon towards the city.

'The stench is awful, don't you think, mercenary?'
Dimal stopped the caravan a while ago, just before the broken gates, to have a little chat with Zathaar. The day was coming to it's middle, and the sun poured heat down on them mercilessly. Zathaar turned to his patron, smiling.
'Aye, Hood must have choked to death here.' Zathaar chuckled at his own words. 'To death. Marvelous.'
'So, I shall follow the road in a week, to head for Lest and Coral. Care to tag along?'
'With all due respect, Dimal, I'll just stay around this place a bit.'
'Oh. And are there any... special... reasons?' Dimal asked.
'Family buisness.' Zathaar cut. He was obsessed by a vision of a cold beer and an evening out of saddle. 'Are we planning on going inside the city before dark, or have you grown used to the life on the road and decided to be a nomad, Dimal?'
'No need to be unkind, Zathaar.' The merchant was stoic and proud. 'In this moment I give you your payment, and you are free from your contract. Live well, mercenary.' Dimal passed Zathaar a small sack of coins and walked away.
The mercenary nodded and headed inside Capustan, trying to thrown the merchant's arrognt smile out of his thoughts. Good thing I'm not as a fiery tempered lad as in my youth...

In Capustan

Seevo was tired. He had sat in this hovel of a house for two days. No sleep, no relief watch, just watching and noting the comings and goings of the occupants in the estate across the street. Sometimes they would leave together sometimes separately, but always in the same garb. Black leather. Just at that moment the taller of the two opened the front door, Seevo instinctively shrank into the shadows of the window. There it was again that feeling again of being watched when it was he who was the watcher. This man disturbed him more than the other. The other seemed even comical, his round fat face balanced atop his overly fed body. Seevo swiftly traversed the stairs to the roof and pursued the tall one over the roofs. It seemed an almost easy task, too easy in fact; he scowled at being given such a mundane task. This should have been left to a Ki not a newly promoted Scar. Every night he observed one or both going to the same cemetery, examining the same graves and leaving before dawn. They weren’t even hard to track. Tonight was no different. The guild leaders would have some explaining to do if he got no relief watch tonight, or at the least an explanation.

After tracking the tall man back to his estate Seevo retired to his watch. His brace of weapons had gone. At that exact moment of uncertainty Seevo ducked and rolled to the left, barrelling into a figure in the shadows.
“Hood damn you. Seevo. Was that really necessary?” the newcomer grumbled whilst recovering.
“Only cos I knew it was you Tani. Always have to announce yourself ehh? Might as well have just plonked a sign saying hey Seevo I’m over here. That’s why I got promoted and your stuck being a runner. What news anyway? And it better be good.”
“You’re to report back. You’ve got a new assignment.”
“At last. It better be more interesting than this one. Who’s in my stead then?”
“Me.” replied Tani confidently.
“Finally got that promotion then. Well here you go, you’re gonna need this.” He said as he passed Tani a feather filled cushion.
“What’s that for?”
“You’ll work it out.” quipped Seevo which brought a slight grin to his parched lips.
With that Seevo deftly picked up his weapons climbed the stairs and traversed the rooftops.

It had been 5 years since he had left Capustan. As the youngest member of his guild he had been given the dirty task of following a target who thought he could escape by leaving Capustan. The man had gone to Darujhistan but had caught on to him and was able to get in to Pale. Getting in to the occupied city he later found out wasn’t hard. But getting out was near impossible. The Malazens didn’t mind anyone getting in as long as you didn’t have anything to do with there siege and could not detect you with their magic. After the siege he wasn’t in a hurry to get back home and was stopped by the siege of Capustan. He made a stop in Darujhistan to visit some people to get some information about the situation in Capustan. Now he was back and it didn’t look good. Most of the city he had lived in was in ruins. But at least the Trall was still standing as well as the palace of the prince which as always gave him the creeps. It wasn’t natural for a building to look like that. When he came closer he could smell the devastation that had occurred. The smell of dead bodies in the air . Just inside the gate he looked for a place to put his horse and found he could at the old barracks. They had been used by the mercenaries hired by the prince during and before the siege. To the death they had fought or al least almost he heard. After that he started towards the bar his people usually went to, the Prophet’s rose. There wasn’t much left of it. Only the front wall was standing but it looked like business a usual. When he walked in he saw that the man behind the counter, or at least what was left of it, was the same man he knew from before. So he walked up to the guy, Samas was his name, he remembered. ‘Do you know a man named Harp.” Jeras asked the bartender. The man looked up at hearing that name and asked “Who wants to know.” At seeing his face there was a look of recognition. “That you Jeras? It gotta be you. You’ve been gone a long time.”
“Yeah, I have been haven’t I. Have you seen one of the others here after the siege Samas.”
“Sure, but they ain’t here now. They’ll be here tonight probably.”
“Then gimme a beer so I can wait.”
Jeras found himself a table and looked at the other partisans waiting for his friends to arrive. He wasn’t going to see the boss until he had spoken with them first.
