Anakin isn't same face and while I can see kinda why Yoda looked off to Ezra fucking Asoka knows what he looks like and yet when she sees him he's what he saw... This sits wrong with me cause Yoda if he's really there would project his true image cause he has no reason not to. I rolled my eyes after she saw him. I just don't get it.... Seems sloppy on their part and I wonder if $ was the reason. Seriously she FUCKING KNOWS HIM SO WHY DO THAT!!?? Lol

Anakin looked younger, probably made that holo early in Asokha<s apprenticeship, and Yoda is worn and old.

Also, different animation.

Decent ep overall. I enjoyed the first fight and how Ezra concluded it.

BK, That's a good point about Ahsoka. If I had to guess...budget. They already made the figure that Ezra would see...so they probably didn't have the money to make a more CloneWars-y looking figure for Ahsoka to see at the end.

I'm largely okay with it...while I prefer the more accurate (though still stylized) Yoda in TCW, this fits with the overall aesthetic of the REBELS character design. At least Frank Oz did the voice, that does a lot to sell it.

I loved this episode. Probably one of the best they've done all season. Just incredible lore stuff from start to finish.

The fact that The Grand Inq used to be a Temple Guard is REALLY interesting. It's also noted by Filoni in the recent Rebels Recon that Yoda sent that vision to Kanan (and the Vader revelation to Ahsoka)...so the Grand Inq was indeed a Temple Guard, and I think that it was meant to show that even the most disconnected emotionless Jedi could be turned to the dark side. But also note that Kanan grabbed a lightsaber off the wall and it's red...and though he looks askance at it, he still uses it to fight. I think that's intentional. I don't think he'll turn or anything, but it's intentional for sure to show Kanan how easily even the most devoted Jedi could be turned.

And I also think that the fact that the Grand Inq knighted Kanan has OFFICIALLY sealed his fate. Now it can't be said "Kanan isn't REALLY a Jedi anymore as there is no order...and thereofre it can't dispute Yoda and Obi-Wan saying to Luke that he is the last Jedi". Before Kanan was knighted, you could get around that by having him not be officially of the Order (like Ahsoka) and that would not conflict with what Obi-Wan said in ROTJ...but now Kanan is officially a Jedi Knight. This to me means he's definitely a goner before ANH. UNLESS he turns.

I should note that with multiple mentions of the dark side with regards to Ezra this season, and with his clear yearning for power (you could sense that in his convo with Yoda...Yoda was frustrated that Ezra wasn't seeing the true Jedi way, but wanted to fight and win)...and him clearly speaking with Maul later on...I think Kanan will be killed and it will drive Ezra completely over to the Dark side...and then there is a possibility that Ezra founds the Knights of Ren (just to add a solid connection to the movie series).

Also, I read a theory on Reddit that spoke of having the destruction of Alderaan figure into the endgame for the REBELS characters.

And something I noticed on a re-watch that's awfully poignant.

The last thing the Grand Inq says to Kanan is "The Temple is falling. Go! I will hold off the enemy."...and I can't help but think that line is VERY intentional...as a Temple Guard, he'd have been there when Anakin and the 501st enacted Knightfall (the Jedi Temple Raid) and would have very likely have defended against this (and apparently was captured and turned afterwards). Hell, he may have been one of the last Coruscant-based Jedi to fall to Vader's Fist.

The grand inquisitor said that kannon was now a knight just as the grand inquisitor used to be. Not that he was a temple guard and now kannon is also. I think that the grand inquisitor turned back just before his death. Sequence of events for the grand inquisitor Jedi knight, then turned to the dark as grand inquisitor ( but not a Sith Lord), killed and turned back to the light, dead soul became a temple guard.

Those are both great points. Why it showed up so late in the airing order, and yeah after a long break to push towards sweeps...just weird choices. And yeah the Shroud ep opened the floodgates to the best stuff of the season...I don't want to take time out from that to see Chopper be the focus. No offense, I like Chopper...but it's like an R2-centric ep of TCW...I'm probably gonna be bored.

That was a weird episode. I feel like there was supposed to be some more depth to the creatures living on the planet, but none of it was really explored at all. They just felt so generic.
