Getting ready to wrap up The Clone Wars, which was amazeballs by the way. And i'm trying to figure out where to watch Rebels since i dont have DisneyXD.

So i walk into the video store with my kid (yes, we still have a video store and yes, it is always busy) and by god! There it is in the kids section, the FREE kids section!

Score.

When you've finished Clone Wars, check this out for the final meeting between Anakin and Ahsoka - the episodes that never got made. It's such a shame, it links really nicely into RotS too.

Spoiler alert for Rebels though! So only watch from 30min - to about the 35min mark.. the Siege of Mandalore bit.

Awesome! Thanks
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

So we've had the first two eps after the break, and now.. nothing. What ep.numbers are you on now? I really don't get the scheduling of this show, one minute it's airing before everywhere else and then it just vanishes, with old eps on instead.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Last week was pretty boring.

Tonight was fantastic as fuck! Nice little history lesson. Can't remember if that was brought up in CW S5 or not?
Spoiler
I really liked this one.

Does anyone else think this is starting to look like the last series of Rebels?

Yeah I was expecting that too.

Don't know how many eps left, maybe enough to wrap up Mandalore and leave a few for Tatooine?

I finally got caught up this week too. Who wants to take bets that Ahsoka re-emerges during the season finale and that Kallus officially defects and joins the main cell? It's that, or he dies. There's no way he finishes the season as a mole.

Filoni has been pretty clearly hinting at the fact that Ahsoka survived her first battle with Vader. Whether Vader let her live and walk (out of nostalgia), or thought she was dead or doomed, is up to him...but yeah, when she dies for real, it will be CLEAR to us as viewers.

I still think that the BEST way to send Ahsoka out for good, would be for her to be brought before the Emperor by Vader, and the scene plays out almost exactly like the end of ROTJ except with the Luke role flipped with Ahsoka...and when the Emperor force lightnings her...and unlike ROTJ ending...Vader doesn't stop him, and allows him to kill Ahsoka. This will give extra gravitas to the scene in ROTJ when Vader saves Luke. Not just form the viewpoint of "this is my son, and you won't kill him"...but also "I let you kill one of my closest friends because of your poisonous words...I won't let you kill my son too!"

It would be very poignant.

Although it would require SOME differences as Palpatine would PROBABLY have to lightsaber battle her too...as Luke was a moderate fighter at the time he faced Vader in ROTJ....Ahsoka is about ten times that level of skill, so it would take both Vader and Palpatine to subdue her. Still...it could be made to MOSTLY mirror the ROTJ scene.

Yah think?

After all, Luke (facing an older and more experienced Vader than Ahsoka did in last season's finale) won, Ahsoka didn't.

Luke circa ROTJ is good, but not yet great (at least not Obi-Wan and Anakin in the Clone Wars great)...but you've got an aging Vader as well. I think those things combined to make Luke win...but he's not exactly able to do it without DIPPING into the dark side rage to get it done.

Ashoka spent her formative years as a general in the Clone Wars, learned at the feet of ALL the best Jedi masters. When she faced Vader he was significantly younger than he is in ROTJ, and she was completely unseated and unprepared to face her friend in battle.

But yeah. Ashoka circa-REBELS is more skilled than Luke ROTJ by a long shot. He literally JUST put his own lightsaber together before that film...Ahsoka did hers 30 years ago.

Shiit. Things heating up now.

Good to see Yularen back; also Thrawn in action. Seriously dangerous.

Did you watch season 6?

Have fun with Rebels. After my initial dislike at the weird-looking (and useless) stormtroopers, it's kind of grown on me.

Who was the old officer? He sounded familiar.

Nice ep. Everything fell into place for Thrawn. I still don't like his stupid eyes and eyeliner. If a Chiss shows up in film and they don't have solid glowing, fear inducing, a demon is peering into my soul eyes I'm going to spaz out and leave(not really but I ll be 😡)

Wulff Yularen was an Admiral all through Clone Wars. (Also same voice actor that does the intro at the beginning of each CWs episode.) He's now in Rebels, looking more like he does when he appears round the table with Tarkin and Vader in ANH.

Kind of sad as he works alongside Anakin and the jedi all through CWs - but gets absorbed into the Imperial machine.

Is it just me, or did Thrawn seem more menacing and competent in this episode than he has in previous ones?

I've had this feeling that he has shown up, thrown his weight around only to be thwarted by the rebels through what appears to be dumb luck. And then they've just, sort of dismissed it with an "oh well, better luck next time" attitude.

But in this episode he seemed to display actual menace and competency, not just thuggish villainy. He outsmarted all of them with an eye fixed on the future.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

He has been doing this all along. He told us the 1st time to let them go. He has let them each time since. He had to figure out where the base is and since this is a kids show torturing our crew is off the table.

Yeah, I didn't expect anyone to torture the rebels. However, just because it's a kids show it doesn't mean that it can't carry an aura of menace from the characters it portrays as menacing.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

He definitely felt more menacing and more in control — both of himself and of all the situations in which he found himself. I think they're hinting at a reveal of his Grand Stratagem, which has been slowly unfolding.

Also, he definitely had the untampered star chart memorized.
