If he is wrong the realities settle on one of those that Meanas is dead and had enough players place kills on him. This is the tough part of the next day of the game. Let's say finder is alive in 8 of the 13 realities in all of those eight the finder found player X as scum in all eight. However if they are wrong in the assessment the game should shift to one of the other five realities that are remaining that the town finder is no longer alive. Does this make sense, or am I wrong at this point of view?

Somewhat true. If you are a finder in the remaining realities you are alive in you will hit a strike. However, if your are wrong you will be dead as it should collapse the realities your are not longer alive. However, if you are wrong tomorrow and still alive, you were lying. That's another option too and you can't talk your way out of that. Remember, these don't all overlap perfectly and it is a important distinction. I am going with your plan based off the above information to see if you are indeed the finder, worth the risk.

I think Ampelas is our best shot at getting a scum result. Still less than 50% though. Indeed, only 8% higher than Alkend probably is, which isn't really much difference at all.

In both cases, or with Galayn or Eloth or whoever, the odds are that we will still get a town result and the finder will die.

Is this what they call Sophie's choice?

But then again, a finder isn't all that necessary any more either.
