Hey there, everyone.
All right, so November is once again almost upon us, bringing shite weather and The National Novel Writing Month with it. Three cheers! If you happen to be a newcomer and would love to know what the heck I'm on about, just check out these links: http://nanowrimo.org/faq and http://nanowrimo.org/about
I'm sure some of you are going to participate again, maybe for the umpteenth time, and I'd love to hear what you have planned (or not planned) this year. Share your wisdom or anguish or whatever else you care to throw at the rest of us!
As for me, last year's story is still sitting on my hard drive, and I've been contemplating using it to back up my oh-so-novel novel. I have the barest shadow of a plot and a certain message I'd like to weave into it, but not much else besides.
But enough of that -- the clock's ticking. Good luck to anyone interested!

I've actually been waiting for Darkwatch to start a thread, as per usual, but I just couldn't restrain myself any more. Sorry...

Good luck to all.

I've been planning to take part. I'm not sure I can get that far due to RL reasons I cant avoid but will give it a go and see where I get. I have a story/script-type Idea I've had in my head for months now and I'm planning to launch myself at it, see where I end up.

As per usual I want to do this, but November is just not a month that works for me.

Still, I'll hopefully get something done, I don't think I'm going to aim for 50k though. I'll maybe pick a smaller goal though, or finishing a short story I've had in my head for ages.

We should organise some forum events for it.

1100 words make for an auspicious start with a satisfactory scene to boot. Alas, I now see I won't be able to keep it up due to my studies, but perhaps I can still reach a lesser goal, 20k or thereabouts.

Hey, great start, hope you make it past that revised goal, Studies and all considered.

I clocked 1020 last night but im all over the place. Im writing three scenes and im not sure they tie up.

My broad outline was set quite a while back but i have two ways i want to go about it and two more popped up as i wrote this morning. Its gonna be quite a mess if i manage to go the distance.

After several failed attempts (1) I won in 2014. So I'm trying again this year. Anyone else game?

(1) Well, something between 12K and 25K is still better than no words, so the failure is relative. :)

I'll pass. Too deeply invested in my own present work to do anything on the side.

bump.

thread necro ahoy!

I'm going to try it again this year.

for like actually properly try it.

My first attempt (2012) yielded a paltry 450 words according to my nano profile. I'm sure it was more than that, but unbelievably piss poor effort none the less

Bump again.

Last year was a mixed bag for me. Did I actually write anything?
No, work went to shit as per usual for me
But I did a lot of solid prep.

There are promising signs for this year's work load, and I still have a lot last year's prep which I aim to build on this October and try get at least writing everyday this year round

2020 bump.

Anyone planning on going into it this year?

I think I'm giving up on a 50k single story and maybe I'll go for several short stories instead.

I was all geared up to try this again.
Haven't started, if I can get a few things cleared off my endless list of shit to get done I might give it a last minute dash for a 20k short

Nah. I'm just plodding along with the initial bits of my third book, I write when the urge takes me and when I'm not exhausted and craving death.

End of month update, I just passed 45 000. I'll definitely win this year which will make it a 50/50 win/loss ratio. I'm average!
