Twin Peaks David Lynch just announced a third season

I wonder if there are any other David Lynch fans on the forum. I watched the original series when I was in highschool. I fell in the middle of it, which made finding out what was going on even more of a challenge. Never heard the rumors about a third season, but now, after 25 years, Lynch confirmed them. http://youtu.be/nNHsA4WIFvc

Yah, I only watched Twin Peaks as an adult, but this is really exciting. As far as I know, besides wishful thinking the rumors only picked up surrounding the release of the Blu-Ray, and then again very recently due to some Lynch & Frost tweets. As long as Lara Flynn Boyle doesn't somehow curse the project, I think it'll be cool.

I did a rewatch, couple of years ago, still loved it. It's good in a weird, over-the-top way.

Are you asking if it goes from an A+ show to an even better show, then no, season 2 has its weak elements, but it stays mostly awesome. And Fire Walk With Me is darn near perfect.

Never liked it myself (and wasn't FIRE WALK WITH ME an unmitigated flop?) and I tried to watch a few times as most of my friends dug it.
Not a Lynch fan.
But glad to hear those of you who are into it are getting more. That's gotta be exciting!

Fire Walk With Me must be one of the most underrated movies of all time. The new Twin Peaks miniseries seems to be confirmed, 9 episodes all directed by Lynch himself. Set 20 years later ...

Mark Frost wrote a novel called The List of Seven which I thought was fantastic. It was kind of steampunkish, Victorian era England with a Sherlock type character. I really loved it.

Won't go into details, but I watched the first two eps and they were GREAT. At least for these first couple episodes, the tone is almost all Fire Walk With Me w/o the mock-soapiness or folksy humor of the show. It was dark like a nightmare, even when it was funny.

I just want to shout out how the original score is fantastic. Absolutely love it.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

There was a ton of great TV-themes in the 90s. I really Chris Carters two shows The X-files and Millennium as well.
Those weird eerie instrumentals would play through out the episodes and creep me the fuck out. To this day I can't watch the intro sequence for X-files with out becoming unsettled. I imagine if you strapped a heart monitor on me it would spike as soon as you clicked play.

You kinda have to bull through the silly stuff in the latter half of Season 2, to get to the finale and the movie (which are huge tone, theme, & plot corrections).
