Here is the trailer with Engish dubbing so we can get a clearer picture.

Love that one of the Prince's guardsmen/friends is randomly a Brit.

PLEASE NOTE: The radio announcer mentions the Emperor of Nibelheim. (Nibelheim being a major town in FFVII)

Huh, for the first time Square Enix is using player feedback on the demo to revise the game...

http://www.ign.com/a...lowing-feedback

It's interesting to note Tabata seems so open to releasing a game players want to play...and that the demo feedback was from multiple global markets.

Is it possible, this FF game may get back to what made some of the older titles so great?

Also, the "reigning in of male devs" he mentions with regards to Europeans finding the Cindy character overly sexualized...can only be good for the title ans gaming design in general. Set a precedent, and go back to redesign her to be less sexualized.

Have faith! They can't afford to let this game be bad.

Reviews are starting to creep out now and from what I've saw, they are generally positive.

It's looking pretty good from what I've read in this review thread:

https://www.reddit.c..._review_thread/

Really wish I owned a PS4. Here's hoping for an eventual PC port.

I may go to Walmart after midnight. Excited to get my hands on the guide as well. I bet it's going to be big. Just hope it's not the white HC that 13 2&3 & Type O had.

Fuck it is! Except it's black. 352 pgs by Piggyback. I preferred the old Brady Games guides. These HC are a pain in the ass to flip through and the ink will smudge if your to rough. Dammit!

And you like it rough, don't you?

Heretic finger twatwad! How dare ye piss in my cheerios

I've heard from lots of people that it's incredible. I'm still annoyed that your entire party is dudes in the game...but it sounds like it's really solid (except for some of the more linear portions the game that tunnel you around a bit).

It sounds like any grumbling is being done by nitpickery at the highest level.

I'm still going to play it when I get a chance to pick it up.

The director of the game actually made a solid defense of the choice of an all male central cast. The game's central core is a road trip with the boys. One last ride before the Prince is married off and his bachelor life comes to an end. As such, given the theme and the story, putting a woman in the car would change the story they were going for. It's about the dynamic between a bunch of bros. To an extent the road trip is the journey from boyhood to manhood.

Oh, no that's fine. I get that. It just makes for a less interesting party to me game wise. Most of my fave characters in older FF games were women (Lulu) or creatures (Red XIII). It's a very small complaint on my part, and would not ruin my enjoyment.

Haven't actually read any reviews yet but I assume the party grows eventually? I'd imagine in typical FF fashion you end up with a larger roster of characters, with the oppertunity of adding some poorly characterized women who either constantly nag or fawn over the j-pop protagonists? Or is it just you and the bros the entire game?

I don't think it does grow much, as far as I've heard. There is a childhood friend character who is female who you briefly interact with....but apparently the only woman you interact with in the game on a significant level is Cid's daughter Cindy who fixes your car in a top that cannot contain her voluminous boobage.

I'd recommend watching Kingsglaive, it's a good intro into the world and a pretty good film.

As for the game... aye this is going to be awesome. It is stunning and the music is great too. Not totally sold on the combat system yet but we'll see how deep it is with what's to come.

I laughed so hard when...

(Not a story spoiler, just an in game action spoiler]

Somebody already beat that Giant Turtle monster. It took less than an hour, not 72 hours:

I'm really enjoying it.

I'm just running around the first part of the map, exploring and getting used to the battle system. At first I was unsure about the combat but it's really growing on me once you start to pick up the nuances, switching between weapon mid combo, the blocking/dodging reminds me a bit like Shadow of Mordor, dodge around with the chance to counter. Once you get the hang of the phase shift too it begins to get really fun.

I found it's all about locking on, rather than holding R1 to keep locked on, hold R1 then click R3 and you can let go of R1 and now switch between targets whilst kicking ass now freeing up your hands.

Haha aye, night is scary, I run like fuck when it starts getting dark at the minute!

Liked that spoiler too and agree with the magic, I haven't quite got it figured out yet, only had one magic flask so far so not really had the chance to experiment.

Really enjoying it, the hunts remind me of FFXII.

Going to get some hours in at the weekend.

Graphics power doesn't matter. It's about how much it costs to design multiple characters, animate them, give them voice, etc. There's a reason why cosmetic DLC costs a ton when it has a ton of detail and animations.

Look at a game like the Witcher 3. They must have used the same 20 character faces a thousand times through out the game. It's a matter of money. Not graphical power.
