I finished Deadhouse a few days ago and am about 50 pages into Memories of Ice. My question is this:

I know Caldan Brood and Anomandor Rake and Onearm are attempting to form an alliance against the new threat. But is the army of the Apocalypse part of that alliance? What is the connection between Rake, Brood, Onearm, and the Apocalypse?

Except for that "item" that arrived from Genebackis in Deadhouse Gates there isn't any connection between the two books.

The army of the apocalypse are only interested in "liberating" 7C from the Malazan Empire.

Agreed.

There may be more to it, but it's RAFO for later books.

Thank you for clearing this up for me. So it's kind of like a 2-front war going on. The Empire vs Apocolyspe and OnearmBrood vs Pannion Domin.

As of the end of DG, yeah that's pretty much the state of things.

Add to that the fractured nature of the Apocalypse, the unresolved tensions between the free Cities of Genebackis and saberrattling in various other provinces of the Empire. The Malazans live in interesting times.
