So I'm a bit confused by all the maps and such right now. I just need some yeses and nos on what I think is right so far.
All the countries like Rool and Mare are on the sub-continent Korel
The "Korelri" are the soldiers of the Stormwall.
Korel = The lands of Fist.
But there is the island of Fist which is where Mare and Rool are.

Just wondering if I've got the gist of it.

I think ethnic "Korelri" are the peoples who originate on the lands where the Stormwall is now (rather than just being a name for everyone at the Wall), but it can be used broadly for the whole continent. Same with Fistian (Fist and Korel both being names for the entire continent as well as specific sections of it). I think that answers your questions (the first being a basic Yes and the second being a Yes and No, because..., while the third and fourth are also basic Yes's).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Korel/Fist is a politically decentralised subcontinent, so there is no sense of collective identity, and is most well known to Malazans due to encounters with its two most powerful northern polities, Korel and Fist (consider that Quon Tali is also named after one of its powerful polities). I believe this explains the diversity of names.

I think of it like the Korel archipelago (similar to the Indonesian archipelago) with Fist being like East Timor
