Saw it advertised in TV Guide, but haven't seen an episode yet. I want this guy to be on the show, just lurking in the background of every scene.

I did actually end up watching and enjoying this show. Although it was a little bit annoying to me that every episode was so similar that it felt like watching a rerun every week: 1. One or more of them spend half the episode procrastinating, and then the other half stressing out about the deadline. (Question: Why not plan 2 cons ahead and have your costume done well in advance, instead of starting the week before? Not enough drama, I guess.) 2. Someone gets pissy about what someone said about someone else. 3. Yaya Han criticizes someone for having an immodest costume, then has her boobs hanging out of her own costume later in the show. Etc. etc. etc.

Eh. It's summer. Not as much on. I guess I'll watch S2.

I watched it a couple times. The craftsmanship is awesome, the reality show drama not so much (not that I hate drama, I just hate when the scripted fakeness of it shines through on "reality" shows). But overall it's not an unpleasant show. You may be interested to know that Yaya has featured on King of the Nerds a couple times too (once per season so far I think), and it's not a bad show at all. I was kinda surprised, because TBS pairs it with the Big Bang Theory in advertising, and I thought it would be full of out of work actors pretending to be nerds to get on TV. Instead it's actually full of legit nerds like game designers, NASA employees, notable hackers, professional engineers, that kind of thing. It does still follow the basic reality game show pattern set down by Survivor, but other than that I found it a pleasant surprise, more charming than not. Also one of the telltale signs that they are genuine nerds is that any time one of them feels rejected to any degree (like during a vote) they break down and cry, like you can see all the horrible times they had in middle and high school all come flooding back in just a few seconds. It's an interesting sight.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
