Hi people.

Haven't be on here in time!
Wasn't in a good place when I joined but am so now.
Anyway, I have also thought these two would make for an interesting one on one and would have peoples opinions on the matter.

My money is on Leoman of the feathers  Wielding two morning stars the way he does (and because I have always had a soft spot for great man!) I reckon Redmask might have trouble landing a blow. Although his bladed/spiked whip may well be of assistance. Might create a bit of a tangle though....
Both men fight with two weapons so I reckon it would be an epic bout to witness!
Anyway, what do you guys think.

Hope I have done this correctly!

Clearly I haven't and can't seem to get the poll vote bar.
Hmmm, anyone fancy helping me out?

Edit - Seems my brain works better than I initially thought!
:)

For the sake of clarification this bout takes place outside upon flat desert terrain. They both meet up late in the day, just the two of them.

This is actually a pretty good match up. They are very equal in skill and intelligence.

I think the deciding factor is Redmasks lizard killing weapons. They work over long distance and as such will probably give him the advantage.

Glad you approve good Sir.
I asked this one on the facebook Malazan page a few years back. I think it became my longest ever thread.
Redmask does have some hardcore weapons, I wonder if he is cold iron? Not that that would be a deciding factor in my decision but it had been considered.
As close as the match may be I gotta stick with my main man!

Regardless of the K'chain Che'malle I think Leoman would come up with some plot to take these out, maybe use the rope idea that the Grey Swords had. What terrain are they fighting on? Is it desert or plains?

In this particular bout its just the two of them. They both meet in an agreed upon place, somewhere flat in the desert as the sun is going down.
Is it standard procedure to include scenarios when creating X Vs X poll?

So now there is now Lizards in the fray, just him with his whip and him with his scimitar?

Nope. No lizards or Corabb. Just two men battling it out as God intended.

I gave it to Leoman. He's from a harder place.

Redmask is hot iron who thinks he's become cold iron through self-discipline. But he's wrong.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Leoman always has a back-up plan or an exit strategy. He may lose a battle here and there, but he'll always get out alive.

II love the Leoman character, and I really like the flails. But I go with Redmask just because....well Im not sure why.

Redmask for also being a great concept for character.

I think Redmask was the better skilled of the two, just barely though and as Apt said, range gives Redmask a substantial advantage on an open plain. the opposite being true if they were in close quarters like a jungle/forrest or thicket or Tattersails Wardrobe. :D

I'd have to go for Redmask which is purley based on his entrance in RG, he came off as being one of the coolest characters at this point.

Hmmmm, Redmask is simply a guy who was at.the right place at the right.time. The Che'malle aren't so great at picking humans, as we find out......he is à regular, somewhat snipey/snide little bugger who has some cool gear and a massive inferiority complex. Whereas Leoman is many things, a rogue, a leader, a devious little shit, but hé is also an ass-kicker of such skill that Karsa shows him some respect. And let's face it, Karsa would kill Redmask with little difficulty. Leoman is prolly one.of.the toughest 'mere mortals' in the books.
