Big question is, can FOX pull this off?
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Probable answer? Not likely.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Oh hell yes, all the whining about money and weird creepy nice guy stalking I could ask for in a show!
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Glad to hear this. Fantasy on television has gone down hill since Legend of the Seeker. We need some more quality adaptations.

^^This.

FOX is literally THE WORST network to start a show on ever, ever, ever, ever.

Unless it's one of their staples (THE SIMPSONS) which they allow to be flogged to death while cancelling the funnier and more clever show (FUTURAMA; which luckily the Comedy Network picked up).

Basically any good show they started, got cancelled faster than you can spit. The problem lying in not allowing dramatic shows, and especially SFF shows to find their legs. The fatcat suits are like "What?! It didn't make ratings in the first season go bananas?! Fucking cancel that shit."....prime examples of this are TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES and DOLLHOUSE...both of which not only found their legs late in their first seasons, but both qualify in my top ten BEST shows of all time for writing and plotline. Both unceremoniously iced in their 2nd seasons by a stupid network that didn't realize they had the next BUFFY or FIREFLY on their hands.

Sigh.

FUCK FOX.

While I want to see a dragon cow as much as you folk do, don't imagine that this will get more than 1 season at a shit network like FOX.

haha, that would have been something, but I'm skeptical until proven otherwise about the show.

On of my main problems with the series is a lack of action and an overabundance of 'ordinary' and uninteresting challenges related to money, school, bullies and unrequited teen angstlove outweighing the actually interesting plots by a massive margin. It's like a CW network show where you have to watch the hero stress over his prom date for 30min before someone blows up a museum in the last 12min.

So i can't see a tv series built around those story points being all that interesting for me.

Unless someone gets trampled by a dragoncow every episode. I would watch the fuck out of that show.

I really want to hear the 'sure jocks, you may get to sleep with and actually have a relationship with her beyond stalker and stalkee, but there's a super secret hidden core that only I get to see, no I'm not jealous a bloo bloo bloo' part spoken out loud by an actual person.

it works better if her super secret core bursts out of her mouth when a dragoncow steps on her abdomen.

It screams "Fuck off you scummy douche, I'm not interested in you, get over it, the friend zone is a myth" and then flies off.

Alternatively she has a fistfight with the dragoncow and I take it all back, all of it

It could pretty easily turn into a average schooldrama all in all not the book I would have picked for a SFF show on TV. Done right it could be awesome but the odds are probably low

Apparently you have to be an extremely slow writing author to get you stuff on TV. What are these networks going to do when they catch up with the books? Just say "To be continued when the author finishes."

Not a knock on the authors, I just find it humorous that there will clearly be no ending unless they just wing it.

They should rather make a Prince of Thorns series. It will at least quiet the GoT fans.

I would watch the shit out of an Abercrombie or a Lawrence TV series.

Also, I'm disappointed Abyss has yet to post the Dragoncow picture in this thread....it seems naked without it.

I'd check out the Name of the Wind show if they made it. It can't possibly be worse than the book!

I'm reading Bakker's first trilogy now and it really seems like it could be adapted into a sick TV show. Unfortunately it doesn't seem popular enough

I can already hear the scream of enraged religious nut jobs when they discovers the similarity between Kellhus(?) and jesus/mohammed.
