I think she is rumored to be half-demon even in GotM? Not quite remembering. But by TTH she is definitely confirmed.

Comes down to craftiness I suppose. If it were an assassination job- which granted they are both assassins, then whoever went after the other one would probably win. That been said Laseen managed to usurp an empire and Vorcan was small time comparatively.

Vorcan is not rumores to be anything-it is clearly stated that she is one of the demon servants of the Masked Villain im Daryjostan. C'mon guys, why elae would she chain herself within a protective im the basement of her house! Her daughter is also referred to as half demon.
