I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Probably taste pretty yummy. I assume they go with a red wine. But since they probably taste like chicken so perhaps a white.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Yay UNA!

Missed this thread when it went up apparently, and I only saw your more somber thread in the discussion boards.

You are in for a real treat as the whole baby stage progresses. I'm at 9 months as of yesterday and have had some of the most awesomest experiences just sitting down with my wee lass and watching her be...well...a baby.

Things that top the lists:
  • First time I saw her (obviously).......I was sobbing.
  • First time she looked up at me and broke into a massive smile.
  • First time I got her to laugh hysterically. It got me laughing so hysterically too that I couldn't even control it. Never felt elation like that before.
  • First time she cried with real tears (they don't get em right away). Never felt such strong empathy for another being before, not even my wife.
  • First time up on all fours and chasing me around the house at a fast crawl.

And there's many more things on a daily basis above and beyond the firsts. Up to 4 months it's mostly mechanics and staring at each other, but after than the little personality emerges and you begin to realize what a worthwhile thing you're doing. Just don't let the mechanics overcome the fun. In between feeding and changing and burping and cleaning up puke, there's lots of time for fun and you should take advantage of every minute you possibly can.

How about a chianti and fava beans?
but are they worth preserving?
