Steam Summer Sale 2013

The Summer Sale starts tomorrow when the Wednesday deals run out.
Remember, if you find a game on sale that you want to buy, wait until the last day of the sale to buy it UNLESS it is a part of the daily deal. It sucks to buy something at 25 or 33% and then it goes down to 66 or 75% later on.
Keep an eye on other online stores. They usually try to compete or outdo Steam during a big Steam week. Allthough this summer it looks like they all tried to steal Steams thunder by holding earlier discount weeks.
What games are you looking to buy?
I took a look at my wishlist and realised that its grown to 42 games. Admittedly a bunch of them are pre-orders and even more of them are small indie titles, but that's still a whole bunch of games to keep an eye out for.

I am blessed with a couple of laptops that doesn't do gaming very well. Meaning that I'll sit this one out. It also means that I can afford the two holidays I've got planned this fall. Long live the limitations of mediocrity!

Come now Brynjar. Buying just one game surely can't hurt, right?

Only new game I'm really looking to pick up cheap is Bioshock Infinite. I got Dark Souls in the Xmass sale.

Considering I haven't even played a third of the games I bought last year, I'm not planning on buying much this time. I am looking to get Orcs Must Die 2 for cheap though, since I enjoyed the first one.

Ugh my main spending CC got 'compromised' and is out of commission for up to two weeks. Probably a good thing for my wallet, but I'm not really sure there is anything I wanted to get...
I did get FTL for 3$ over at GoG last week, though.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

If it goes by the normal shift between the days it will begin in 7 hours from this post. At which point Steam probably crashes because the entire North western hemisphere tries to go on at once.

I keep telling myself that I'm going to stop spending money....

GamersGate also started their summer sale today. A bunch of EA games pretty cheap. All 3 Mass Effect games--for 20 bucks

Well FTL is 5 dollars. Also thinking of getting sins of a solar empire.
As a noob at this are you sure that sales can only get better as the sale continues?

Basically, the best discounts are found when the game is either a daily deal, a community choice deal, or a flash deal. If the game you want is on sale, but does not fall into any of the above categories, wait to buy it.

For instance, Dark Souls is 75% off at the moment as a Flash Deal, I would be seriously surprised if it was discounted any more.

Bioshock: Infinite is still 30 bucks. I think I may wait till the Xmass sale, actually. I have a huge backlog, and none of these deals are all that super-amazing.

so managed to get Dark Souls while it was 75% off...
anyone think that Borderlands 2 will get more than a 66% drop over the course of the sale?

No, if it is a part of the daily deal, flash sale or public vote it will not get any further discounts, get it while it is a special otherwise you'll miss out.
