Just watched the finale....
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHFUUUUUUCCCKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGHHH.
...also, totally called that, but didn't at all predict where it would go.
Loved it. More once the rest of you are up to date.

Butwhat?
For a network tv show they got down to some pretty violent crazy shit. Sure, we all knew the fight with Jack was coming (and AWESOME... for a 'large gentleman', Fishburne can throw down!) and was going to end badly for Jack... tho i say he isn't dead since emergency tie, and RED DRAGON, but even so that scene was nuts, and then Alona, then Abi, then Will, then the DEMAURIER twist. Fuck me, i predicted a lot of that but didn't see her coming.

Well fuck me like a chicken pot pie... I did not see that coming... still trying to reel up my jaw off the floor!
I KNOW.
I've been saying Abi's alive since her ear showed up in Will's sink, but her throwing Alona out a window was a surprise, and Hannibal stabbing her like a minute later, just to mess with Will... that, i didn't even close to predict. And it says alot obout Hannibal that his entire 'family' focus was really just on Will as a friend/fellow hunter... Abi was just bait.

I didn't see the extent of it playing out like that at all. And the final scene was a nice little tease as well.
Thank God they've got another season to play this out.
I want a furious Will Graham hunting Hannibal Lecter.
On a writing and filmmaking note, loved the symmetry of Will's phonecall to Hannibal, echoing back to episode 1. And the various visuals (raindrops, reflections, blood) and cinematography in general are stunning. I don't know how expensive this show is to make (aside from the actors), but they really make it look cinematic.
The budget is acually extremely low and the crew is exceptionally talented.
I liked:
- Will finally realizing that he, not Hannibal, is the black stag;
- Just how ambiguous Will's allegiance is, right until the end;
- Abi, per above;
- Will really did change Hannibal... yes, he stabbed the fuck out of EVERYONE, but didn't actually make a single kill;
- Demaurier... oh, that was all kinds of awesome twistation right there... suggests Hannibal's been onto the plan for way way longer than anyone expected.
I disliked Alona suddenly becoming this wholly useless woman-in-distress... ok, maybe she didn't notice how much lighter her gun was with no bullets, but then she runs UP the stairs... what she hasn't seen a single horror flic... and THEN she fires three rounds through the door instead of waiting to, y'know, see the guy she was trying to shoot, THEN she ANNOUNCES she has more bullets (duh) and just stands around instead of i dunno, getting the fuck outta there.. now granted most of this goes to panic, but even so, it was just a really hamhanded handling of a character who mostly had her shit together until just then.
So glad they have a S3, can't wait to see what they do next.
