I watched the first episode last night on Netflix and have to say I enjoyed it. Lots of mystery and intrigue and a pretty solid cast. I am definitely looking forward to round two tonight.

Oh wow, Firefly was a great show. Still rate Serenity in my Sci-Fi Top Ten.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

There was rumours about a film, this true? I found this series on a "watch before you die list" so I thought i'd give it a go.

You are in for a treat. Each episode is a great story, sort of like Star Trek, but shinier. I'm going to join you in (re)watching these.

There was a movie after the series ended and you can find it at used video stores for like two dollars. It's called Serenity.

Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Look at the nostalgia from people from this series and maybe the film afterwards. You do not realise you are enjoying a good thing until after the event has occurred or something like that. I however, know that I am in for a treat. So I will just enjoy the moment and then be one of you guys.

I have to laugh at all the Firefly references that keep cropping up in Castle, this one being the most obvious:

Yeah, I loved Serenity (one of my top 5, as well) and Firefly is badass too. Castle is one of the only shows I regularly keep up with cause Nathan Fillion was so good as Mal.

It's basically as good a show as is possible on network television.

Y'all are not telling poor Tatts the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

The show was pretty good. and the movie was damn good.

I cannot express in words how much I love Firefly. Just so damn good. You're in for a treat and the inevitable kick in the genitals when you realize there are no more.

Yep. I caught this on a random channel the other week, and even though I have the set on dvd, I had to sit and watch the whole thing.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Round two was just as fun. What a nice but dangerous guy the captain is. Funny how the guy gets sucked into the propeller after threatening to hunt them down and kill them. Good stuff, just what i'd do.

I was current on this when it came out. It felt like Dresden feels to me right now except on television. I used to run home to catch the start of each new episode and was hit low when it ended. I don't mind how mashed up the order was, fact is the premise was great and I liked how each character was involved, consistent but still interesting.

Wow yeah Firefly in my top favourite shows of all time. Wish I could watch them all for the first time again. Though I made my wife watch it through recently and she ended up loving it, so it was kind of like watching it afresh...
Serenity also one of my all time favourite films.

I will just echo all of the above sentiments.

I came to Firefly in a roundabout way. I had never heard of it, but my friend and I decided to go to the cinema one day, and we looked at what was on. There was this film Serenity - no idea what it was about, something sci-fi, never heard of it, seen no trailers, but we thought what the hell, let's do it.

Just about the best film I saw that year. After that I found out there had actually been a TV series previous to that, and my heart sang with joy knowing I'd get to see these characters again. And Firefly did not disappoint in the least - now one of my favourite television shows of all time.

I enjoyed this series so much that I still - extremely geekily - sometimes Youtube panels at conventions which the actors and/or Whedon attended so I can hear them talk about the show. Watching those, you can really tell how much they loved being on that show, and how much it hurt them too to be cancelled. Especially Nathan Fillion.
