I see where the old poll, I believe by Abyss, was made in 2009. I wanted to do an updated poll, up through Cold Days. Hope no one minds.

I guess I'll go with Changes. Such a hard choice.

I just love how the book opens with you finding out Dresden has a daughter, AND that she's been kidnapped. All through the series, we see the importance Dresden places on stuff that are 'his.' His car. His house. His office, etc. We also saw how important Thomas, as family, became to him, and you just know Dresden's going to go ape shit.

I knew Butcher was going to show us Dresden at a peak of anger we'd yet to see, and he definitely delivers. Who kidnapped his daughter? Red Court. What does he do. He kills them. ALL. The whole god damn planet. It's so epic. And I know this part is small compared to all the other amazing stuff he does in this book, but I just love the scene where Dresden is walking through the halls of the white council in Edinburgh, and he's so mad that he's literally dragging Molly behind him. Then again, when he's talking to Merlin and Butcher is describing just how powerful the Merlin is, and Dresden gets pissed off, gets in his face with 'try it.'

It was going to be Blood Rites, Dead Beat or Death Masks, but I went with Ghost Story because it's such a huge left turn that shows a different side of things and JB manages to nail it.
