My thoughts taken from me disagreeing with TotalBiscuit's assessment:
Infinite fits perfectly within the gaming medium because it explores free will or the lack of in fiction. It is an important within the medium to full of generic shooters and story-lite platformers. It is quite one of the few pieces of art within the medium that isn't focus solely on the visual aspect of art and has something (plenty of somethings) to say. I largely disagree you that it could have been a movie, because the biggest impact of game is experiencing the lack of free will.
It many ways, if it was a movie, which is a static experience, the impact of the plot and character would have less impact. To focus solely on how 'fun' the game is does a disservice to how video games is the medium to tell this story. The point of the story wouldn't really be the point with it was a static experience, if you didn't have go threw all those scenes and trials, experience the characters failure over and over. Only an interactive medium would be able to give it's impact. Furthermore a piece of art isn't solely based on its entertainment value and if it was we would live a dark, dark world. Stop looking at this game as a piece of entertainment that is also art but rather the opposite. And before anyone jumps down my throat, yes I think all games are art but rarely are they art first and entertainment second. Bioshock Infinite is a rare gem that puts its storytelling and characters before form and it wouldn't have been the same if it was a movie or tv show or novel.

I really, really like this game and I may be glorify it a bit but I think it's a masterful use of the medium in storytelling. So awesome.

I just finished this. I liked it form the beginning, but was not wowed at first. As it progressed I got more and more into it though, and the endgame compeltely blew me away. Took me by surprise, more so than the "twist" in the first Bioshock. THis is my favorite end to a video game ever. I have not been emotionally moved like this by many books, let alone games. I am in awe.

Finished this last week. It was excellent.

Spoiler

I may be getting older, but I didn't enjoy the combat that much. By the end the fighting was just a necessary obstacle to finding out what happened next. Given the number of games I've played recently that rewarded or at least allowed non-violent playthroughs (Dishonored, DX:HR), was also disappointed that this game gave me no choice but to slaughter policemen left right and centre.
