Sleet plummeted down from the inky sky, great wet rags that smashed into the ice-crusted ground with a small splat. The windscreen wipers of the stagnant bus squeaked, and turned the slosh into a gray smear across the front window. The snake of road lights vanishing into the gray curtain of the downpour and rising mist seemed to cower beneath the displeasure of the elements, soggy halos wavering around the pallid bulbs, impotent to deliver proper illumination into the night....

Birth of a Prince

The woman screamed.A primal roar torn from her throat by the agony that ripped through her stomach.
"And again my Queen!"
The Queen fought back a curse as she panted and braced herself for anotherpush, "how," she heaved in another breath, "how much more?"
"Not long, it's crowning, deep breathes, you can do this"
Jaseta squeezed her eyes shut and pushed again.
"one more! you can do this"

Title: Untitled

Author: Kaamos

Contains language, gore, and violence

A waning moon; a time of endings. The thin silvery sliver gleamed in the depths of the heavens, its graceful, curving edge whetted to cut the fabric of the air. Still it ascended towards its highest declination, like its tinier, terrene kinsman had done moments ago. Through the dissipating haze of wrath still obscuring her thoughts, Linda could imagine some obscure sky-titan, draped in the deepest midnight, awaiting in ambush beyond the stars, only this single sickle manifesting his existence. Or her existence....

Title: Jangled
Author: Dolmen
Contains: Violence

The door key turned and the lock unlatched. A middle aged man walked into his up-market studio apartment. He wore dark slacks and a blazer with a black throat hugger underneath. His hair was combed back and held fast with gel, his leather shoes clacked rhythmically on the ceramic floor tiles. The man moved slowly, his expression morose, the events of the day weighing heavily on his shoulders. The man de-activated his security and switched on his phone. Sifting through apologetic E-mails and messages he made his way to the kitchen. He'd neglected to eat through the course of the day. He knew he had to have something but the will for it was gone. As he stepped into the open kitchen he realized, somewhat belatedly, that the sun was setting, the shadows graduating to night. He looked around the dark interior, his hands groping for the light switch. A flick and the fluorescent lighting came on. When he saw what lay on the counter next to him he froze...

Otsomieli's Choice

Iceland, 11th century

Gelid rain lashed down from the inky sky, goaded into further ferocity by a wind so violent it had uprooted smaller plants from the ever-thinning topsoil. On occasion, one could spot a malnourished bush that had tried, oh, had tried to hard to cling to life, but which had at last bent beneath the perpetual gale's iron will.Such had become the legacy of the invaders: the great, tangled birch woods of yore had nigh-on vanished, chopped down and become fashioned into grand dragon-headed ships or burnt to feed the forges wherein iron transformed into keen swords. Nowadays, the tortured shapes of laval rocks oftentimes dominated the sites of the bygone forests, with perhaps thin moss covering them or some scraggly weeds sticking out from hollows where fertile mold still persisted.

6th Topic: ETERNITY

Definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternity

...Eternity is endless time. In philosophy and mathematics, an infinite duration is also called sempiternity, or everlasting.Eternity is an important concept in many religions, where the immortality of God or the gods is said to endure eternally. Some, such as Aristotle, would say the same about the natural cosmos in regard to both past and future eternal duration, and like the eternal Platonic Forms, immutability was considered essential.

The metaphysics of eternity studies that which necessarily exists outside or independently of space and time.Another important question is whether "information"or Form is separable from mind and matter. Aristotle established a distinction between actual infinity and a potentially infinite count: a future span of time must be a potential infinity, because another element can always be added to a series that is inexhaustible.[2] Aristotle likewise argued that the cosmos has no beginning. Euclid invoked this distinction instead of saying that there are an infinity of primes, rather that the primes outnumber those contained in any given collection thereof.

Setting: Compose a "glimpse" of eternity.
