Bantam press larger paperback version, on page 200, it has 'Kyle' when its meant to have 'Suth', since the paragraph is about Suth and his squad on the boat while Goss is talking about the Blue Monrath asking for volunteers. Unless something has gone way over my head.

anyone else come across this?

You're probably right. There are several weird misprints in the malazan books. not exactly sure how it happens. i'm pretty sure in my version of gotm ''mallet'' was replaced by ''mammot''

going from vague memory here, but wasn't Kyle present for that and ended up on the same mission as Suth?

I think that's a different scouting mission. This scene is before the squads square off against Blue Moranth in five-on-five contests to see who gets to go with them, and it is definitely a misprint. It's a Suth POV and is obviously him from the context of the character's thoughts. I'd guess this was a mistake originating with ICE himself and somehow getting through the editing process, since it's not a mere typo.

I remember doing a double take thinking I had missed something. Came to the conclusion that it was definitely a misprint. The conversation simply makes no sense otherwise.
